This weekend, Ryan “Filipino Champ” Ramirez ran a special qualifier to decide who would fill the remaining two spots in the team Northern California is sending to SoCal Regionals 2014 to compete in a special Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 exhibition against the home region’s squad.

At the end of the round-robin competition, Vineeth “Apologyman” Meka of Macro Micro Gaming and Kevin “Jeopardy” Yang stood above the rest of the group, which included players like Marvelous Customs teammates Jason “GCYoshi” Wang and Kevin “KBeast” Baigan, giving us a clear picture at the teams that will be competing in the exhibition.

norcal is gonna win, all socal has is jwong

    • Louis Lam

Clockwork beat ChrisG in a set the other week.

    • RomanceHD

Maybe, but I think Paradigm is underrated to be honest.

    • J.D SRK

I’ll be very happy when Clockwork makes you eat your words.

    • grezex29

They do have Clockwork, and when he’s in he groove, Infrit can do pretty damn well. However, I don’t think Clockwork or Infrit are quite up there with FChamp or PR Balrog.

    • Gun_Vanguard

I see 4 threats on SoCal’s team (Justin Wong, Clockwork, Infrit, and Cloud805) versus 3 (FChamp, PR Rog, and Neo) on NorCal. I say that because I’m not really familiar enough with Paradigm, Apologyman, or Jeopardy to say whether they’re threats or not.

    • Razberryclownsac

Isn’t that all they need? :p Seriously though, Clockwork, Cloud, and Infrit are all solid (not sure why people are sleeping on Cloud especially.).

    • yeee geee

Jyub is all u need and yummy pyru cryppyng

  • jakdripr

I feel this’ll be close. Clockworks been putting in work and cloud805 is hella solid(didn’t he beat champ at evo?). Either way can’t wait.

  • Joseph Marcelo

I would usually say team socal because of jwong and clockwork, but I’m not sure, F Champ is really good.

  • MaskedHero99

Nor cal gotta gonwith my home town

    • Guest

Pretty sure “nor cal” isn’t a town. Sigh, west coasters

      • MaskedHero99

        Awww dam he got me

  • dopeedoo

    No Wentinal? No Killer Kai?

No offense to those chosen for socal, but that doesn’t look solid.

Cloud, clockw0rk, and justin *lol ny* are gonna have to hold it down.

    • Corner el Dorner

prbalrog and neo aren’t norcal either.

  • BlackMasamune

    What’s the format?

  • JnKzm

Both teams are strong, in NorCal you have Filipino Champ and PR Balrog. However on SoCal you’ve got Clockwork and Justin Wong.

The other great player that people are flying over is Cloud805…that dude is LEGIT. I hate watching Zero but the way this guy plays Zero or better yet his entire team is absolutely ridiculous. His Dante is completely off the wall.

In my opinion, I like team SoCal by a bit, although Team NorCal has an incredible line up of players. This weekend is gonna be hype with these guys going at each other.

  • ReoAyanami

    Chris G will win.
