Crazy Piranha Entertainment and ORiGO GAMES Provide a Quick Glimpse at New Horror-Themed Fighter The Chainsaw Incident

It’s not often we see entirely new fighting games come out of the woodwork, which is why this new trailer from Crazy Piranha Entertainment and ORiGO Games has us intrigued. The video in question showcases footage of a work-in-progress title called The Chainsaw Incident, a fighter that appears to be based around horror genre conventions.

There isn’t much to go off at the moment, but feel free to check out the small bit of gameplay they’ve provided below and let us know what you think. Be warned that some of the content could be considered NSFW.

UPDATE – ORiGO GAMES also provided us with some art assets that highlight specific characters in the game, a sneak peek at the full character-select screen, and more.

According to information included in their official press release, they are aiming to release the game on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The cast will include twenty-six fighters, with two available as free-to-play characters.

    people are already starting to hate on this game calling it skull girls and such. if you dont like the game then just leave.

      I wouldn’t call it Skullgirls… Skullgirls is its own entity.

      However, Capcom already HAS this game —
      It’s Darkstalkers!

      Best of luck to them towards selling this…
      Apparently, Capcom is convinced gamers only want Tekken or Street Fighter which is a darn shame…

      I’m amazed because there are at least a half-dozen dormant fighting game IP’s that could be resurrected and might do well — two of those are wholly-Capcom owned games — Darkstalkers and Rival Schools.

      I dunno… I guess they have their expectations on sales ultra-high if everything has to sell 3 million copies to be considered a hit and viable to keep supporting.
      It makes you wonder about how crazy-expensive it is to develop a game when the threshhold of break-even is that high!

    I really like the art, but the stage has to be bigger, and hits have to FEEL like they hit….and lesst stuff on screen wouldn’t hurt either.

    That art style though, so smooth and…just different. It’s feels refreshing and fun. I really like it. Will definitely be keeping an eye on this.

    I miss when they made fighting games with people that did martial arts.

      I feel you, because I miss that too, I guess they make games these days that more so hint at martial arts more then they are actually about them, but on the bright side at least they’re still making fighters, because for awhile it was bleak times.

    Mobility looks sluggish or nonexistent.
    The blockstrings/combos looked like filler- no substance, just there to look cool.
    I will revisit this but as of right now, I’m not feeling it.

      I noticed that too. Mobility looked really slow. As others have said, it isn’t a finished product, but one would think that that is something they would have down before providing a video to the public.

    This looks cool! The only problem I have with it is the excessive use of chainsaws. I mean I know it’s called the chainsaw incident, but all 3 of the characters shown have at least one on them somewhere…

      I don’t know why anybody would vote this down, because I think you make a really good point here. Just because chainsaw is in the title doesn’t mean EVERY character needs to have one, I think that would get very boring, and limit the scope of what they can creatively, and only end up hurting them in the long run.

    It was only a year ago that I said “It doesn’t matter if Capcom makes another Darkstalkers game anymore. If they don’t do it, someone else will.” It’s about time, I say.

    I can’t even lie right now, this actually shows potential, and I have to admit that I was not expecting it to. I like the look, and the feel, I just hope it’s more like Darkstalkers, and less like MK, and that they stay away from excessive gore. Here’s hoping it turns out good, I’m rooting for them.

    The art direction is certainly exciting. If they are willing to put in the time to develop a solid+interesting system, this will be a wonderful game to add to the scene.


    I always pay attention to how many people say…
    “Looks interesting.”

    Usually that’s a good way to gauge how disappointing and forgettable a fighting
    game will turn out, overhyped or not. It was pretty accurate for pretty much all of the
    other games that got shot down: Arcana Heart, Aquapazza, Chaos Code,
    Yataragasu, Xuan Dou Zhi Wang, Fighting Climax, Fate/stay night,
    Vanguard Princess, Girl Fight, Skullgirls (had some good pre-release Rule34 and
    post-release character-art-fanboy reception though) and all the other poor-man
    Anime/PC/Steam/Indie fighters that get posted up on the front page.
    And people take it up a notch by saying “screw Crapcom fanboys;
    this will be fresh and amazing” while blindly throwing money at the
    kickstarter or just downloading it somewhere for free.
