Today on the Niconico gaming and anime variety show “Denjin-Gacha”, Kaoru Uno, a representative of SEGA, made an appearance to discuss SEGA’s ALL.Net P-ras MULTI network service. During the segment, he revealed that Arc System Works’ next Guilty Gear title, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, will be launching in arcades in February, one month ahead of a previous rumor.

The release of Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX, SEGA’s crossover fighter featuring characters from the Dengeki Bunko brand, will follow in March.

Look forward to seeing both games in action very soon!

Can’t wait to see Xrd footage once it’s in the wild.

  • Jonathan Scyther

    Whens Order Sol ?

    • fnshr

Exactly what I’m thinking. Can’t wait for Kazunoko to get his hands on Order Sol! My god it’ll be wilddddd!!

  • Oniros

Wow, that’s crazy soon. We might even get a console release by the end of the year. Now the question is: how do you avoid saturating the market with both P4A2 and Xrd coming out pretty much back to back?

    • TheBlackRabbit

      bbcp……as well…….

    • ReddChief78

Because they are released doesn’t mean everybody will buy them all that’s how, there different games with different players. For example i plan on getting GG Xrd & BB but not P4A2.

      • TheBlackRabbit

        All three games for me

  • Gpop

Are they still gonna announce more characters for Fighting Climax? I’m still hoping for a Taiga reveal (I can see her as a pure rushdown character) instead of just an alt colour for Shana.

    • Flavored

Was Toradora published by Dengeki? Personally, I wanna see Kino.

  • rissir

Xrds roster seems too small, hopefully they’ll announce a bunch of characters before its release

    • ArmoredBoar

GGX started with 16, two of which were password unlocks until 1.5. GG is now at 25.
BlazBlue started at 14 characters, with two of them as timed unlocks. Now they’re at 26, pretty much AC+R’s standing.

Now, though, Xrd is on a platform where potentially more characters can enter the fray as updates. That, and it seems like they’re willing to establish that they want Xrd around for quite some time, meaning this is just the beginning. How it is now is completely normal and standard fare for what it is.

I prefer a smaller roster. Easier to balance, learn the characters, etc. One of the biggest gripes I have with todays games is the fact developers feel the need to pad out rosters with an enormous cast. One of the reasons I loved older fighters more was due to this exact reason. It also helps bring in newer players and makes the game less daunting form the get-go.

  • jakdripr

This is so exciting, I was just saying a week ago how we have barely seen any gameplay. It’ll be nice to see some competent(and HD) gameplay in a few weeks.

  • ArmoredBoar

All I want from Xrd is to see everyone else’s instant kills. GodDAMN I’m so hype about that.

Oh, and being able to see match footage that isn’t offscreen.

    • Dion Johnson

Gonna have a hard time topping Bridget, Faust, and Slayer’s instant kills though.

  • MrJechgo

Huh… are we talking about official releases or still beta releases? Because both games don’t have many characters revealed, so if it’s about official releases, maybe their respective rosters will be expanded with interesting additions.

  • Devin Parent

Crying in corner because Jam isn’t in not buying

    • ReddChief78

By the time it hit consoles she might be, this is just a early arcade version so no need to cry bro.

  • LockM

I really hope it is released on PC, so i can still get thta “next-gen” and don’t have to shell out money for another stick or mod. Otherwise i’ll get it for PS3.
I would like it for PS4 but it’s too expensive for too few games.

Hopefully we will get to see ALOT of footage but those japanese arcades are annoyingly strict regarding recordings.

    • zeracoa

I hope they release on steam too.
I guess it s easier to develop a game for ps4/pc than for ps3/pc

  • Go2hell66

Wow already? I wonder how big the roster is gonna be?

  • pablofsi

    When for PS4?

  • AS|SDR|Hellpockets

Hrm…hoping for some more cast members to be announced before then, but so close to launch I doubt it. Maybe the age-old tradition of time-release chars will be implemented? Seems to be working for UNiB.

    • ForteWily

      We’ll have to see…

  • SolarShift

My penis filled with blood when I saw the Xrd release date. I can only hope console release is this year.

  • yeee geee

Dizzy says ” in February let the hyping commence” 🙂
