The fine folks behind Rebel Up! recently dropped us a line to announce that this Saturday’s edition of the Southern California bi-weekly fighting game tournament at Super Arcade will be a quite special. The event will feature double-elimination tournaments for BlazBlue: Chronophantasma, Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus R and Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. Full Boost.

The main event, however, will be a special NorCal vs. SoCal waseda-style BlazBlue exhibition, where the Southern California crew will take on Northern California players Lord Raptor, Pain, Dark Talon, Tone, theBrett, Kaori Manabe, Blk Mage, and the Judge. In addition, there will also be a special Noel vs. the World exhibition with top SoCal players Bobby, Nano and letemcook.

Please note that the BlazBlue: Chronophantasma tournament in this event is not part of the regular Rebel Up! ranbat series (the current season of which will send the winner to Final Round 17). The Ranbats will return on January 25.

For those interested, we’ve posted Super Arcade’s address and a tentative schedule below. If you aren’t able to make it in person, the entire event will be broadcast by Jyosua, so be sure to tune in!

1211 N Grand Avenue
Walnut, CA 91789

Schedule (PST)

  • Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. Full Boost – 4:00 PM
  • Guilty Gear Accent Core +R – 5:00 PM
  • BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma – 7:00 PM

In addition to the main stream’s festivities, Numakie will be on hand to provide a look at the Arcana Heart 3, Vampire Savior, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (Capcom, not CyberConnect2), and Melty Blood tournaments that will also be going on at the event. Do yourself a favor and check it out if you’re into those titles.
