UPDATE – Siliconera is reporting that Soulcalibur: Lost Swords, which we now know will be a completely single-player experience, has been confirmed for release in Europe. As revealed in the image below, Siegfried and Mitsurugi are the first characters to be confirmed playable. The title will be available later this year.
The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine has revealed that a new entry in the Soul series called Soulcalibur: Lost Swords is currently in development for the PlayStation 3. Some of you may remember Namco Bandai filing a trademark for this title back in July.
While few concrete details on the game have been revealed, it is stated that the game will be a free-to-play fighter. This comes as no surprise, as Namco Bandai already has an existing free-to-play fighter in Tekken Revolution as well as free-to-play versions of other franchises such as Ace Combat Infinity, Ridge Racer: Driftopia and Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available. In the meantime, feel free to check out the low-resolution photo of the Famitsu article in question below and let us know what you think in the comments.
