Move over Type: Wild, Pokémon’s parent company may be looking to develop a fighting game of their own. A montage of Pokémon games past, present, and future was shown during the convention to promote the upcoming release of Pokémon X and Y. But, it also provided a brief glimpse of what may be another new game The Pokémon Company has in the works.

The footage in question begins around 2:12 in the video below.

While the above video and image surfaced over the weekend, little was revealed as to what this new title could be. Fortunately, Siliconera was able to dig up a pair of trademarks that may provide clues to this interesting footage. The Pokemon Company recently filed trademarks for Pokkén Fighters and Pokkén Tournament in the United States, which sounds like an weird mashup of their popular franchise and Namco Bandai’s own Tekken fighting series.

Little is shown in the quick glimpse of the game, but it does appear to resemble the 3D fighters developed by Namco for the Naruto anime series or possibly the franchise’s Pokémon Stadium series.

Feel free to check out the media above and let us know what you think.

UPDATE – A representative from The Pokémon Company recently told Kotaku that the footage of this mysterious title is conceptual in nature and that they have nothing to announce at this time.
