For the past few years, the main Evo games have been accompanied by special videos before their finals bracket plays out, and last weekend’s event was no different. Each of the nine games and their notable tournament moments throughout the year were showcased in these amazing intros. Creator Seth Mussey was able to display a distinct style in every video that fit perfectly with the game they were hyping up, making the lead in to each top eight feel incredibly special.

If you weren’t able to catch these at the venue or during the stream, or just want to watch them again and again, you’re in luck. All nine are now available online courtesy of iPlayWinner, so feel free to check them out below. Which one is your favorite?

Also, if you haven’t already, make sure to give Mussey some love by way of @SethMussey on Twitter.

Awesome use of FamilyJules7x and Zircon music for the Melee and AE2012 intros. Even better is how Hakan actually showed up in the finals haha

  • mvsc3 was my favorite everything seemed to gel together.

  • Nullspace

Yipes killin’ it in the Mahvel hype video. So smooth.

  • Louis Lam

Melee and UMvC3 intros were insane.

  • SaltyRD

I don’t even like Marvel and that video got me hype as fuck. Good shit Seth!

  • Ron Newcomb

I love how each vid ends with the title card saying “Nth year at EVO” except Melee’s which simply says, “Welcome Back”. That’s community.

  • GO4PRO

SFxT’s is the worst, as it should be.

Good on the editor for realizing that and making it so.

  • Kr1spness

The melee one gave me chills, so good. All the little things like ending with their Final Destination, welcome back and the breast cancer ribbon. And wombo combo.

  • JnKzm

UMvC3 Hype Intro was THE BEST PERIOD. That music, the theme, the lyrics, it was absolutely perfect. I’m not even a huge Rap fan, however WOW. Completely and utterly epic.

    Incredible!

The “Welcome Back” and breast cancer research ribbon in Melee’s video gave me chills and put a huge smile on my face at the same time. I’ve watched that video so many times at this point and it just never gets old. Fantastic work by Seth. I also loved how when this was shown live at the start of Melee’s Top 8, the whole crowd cheered along with the Wombo Combo part of the video. Melee’s scene is so strong and it’s such an incredible game, and I was so happy to see the levels of talent on display at EVO for that game, as well as the heart and hype the community brought with them to the event. No other game’s community has had to go through so much to get where they’re at, and yet they remain as humble and friendly as ever, with a burning desire to show the entire world what they’re capable of doing.
