For all you Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 players who either play M.O.D.O.K. with Doctors Strange and Doom or are interested in learning a new team, MythicVerbosity recently shared a great video demonstration of setups for this unique trio.

The video goes over bread and butters for each character using the selected assists for the team (Psionic Blaster for M.O.D.O.K., Eye of Agamotto for Doctor Strange and Hidden Missiles for Doctor Doom), though it mostly focuses on M.O.D.O.K. on point. There’s a good amount of information here, including some character-specific setups.

MythicVerbosity has also included extensive notes for the video on SkyDrive.

gotta admit, as much as I hate seeing Doom, those XF3 combos were pretty sexy

My thoughts exactly. If that were the BnB every Doom used, I’d watch Doom matches all day.

well they would still get old after a while, i mean remember how when clockwork did m&m’s the first time it was hype and when marlinpie did the first doom tac combo everyone was mind blown now both of those are just whatever its the repetition that were getting bored of not the actual combo itself. it would happen to other characters too but doom is just the most used character, who’s on 90% of teams and has an easy bnb so we see his basic foot foot dive combo more then other combo in the game

and that’s just the point…this guy is STILL inventing, creating, and modifying combos…the whole copy/paste gameplay as you described above is getting boring to watch and play…Anything newly explored and demonstrated makes this game more interesting to play…it’s still relatively young, so hopefully the “Dr. Doom era” will come to halt lol

well, no matter how old a game gets if people enjoy it then they will continue to invent create and modify combos people are still doing that for mvc2. but as for “the whole copy/paste gameplay as you described above is getting boring to watch and play” alot of players will just pick the easy and effective strategy no matter what game it is, its not surprising to see it happen to this game. players wanna win with the least amount of work possible so speaking honestly i only think we will get even more doom players as time progresses

ah, the path of least resistance…I understand that mentality…I guess it’s just a preference I have…if winning is the only reason you play this game, then by all means, pick the cheapest, highest tier team you can think of (or if you play in tourneys that have cash prizes, which would make sense to play the best). But if you are playing casually, either online, or at a friends house, why not try to play for fun, trying to discover cool new techs, teams, etc…TAC infinites, glitches, etc weren’t discovered in tournaments trying to “win”….they were discovered in the lab trying to experiment and optimize…and this also depends on your level of experience…this is directed towards the more experienced and advanced players…if you just picked this game up and are learning it, then naturally you would play by path of least resistance…I hope you can understand my perspective
