RUMOR – Namco Bandai to Unveil New Fighting Game at E3 2013

By on June 7, 2013 at 8:44 am

Denkiphile is reporting that in a recent e-mail sent to the press, Namco Bandai has announced they will be unveiling a number of new titles at this year’s E3. These include two new Pac-Man titles, a new racing game, and, most importantly for us, a brand new unannounced fighting game. As there is no official press release to be found, it would probably be best to take all of this with a grain of salt.

This new game will supposedly be presented by Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada, which may lead some to believe that we will finally see the first bits of work on Tekken x Street Fighter. Then again, Tekken x Street Fighter has technically already been announced, so we’re most likely in store for something completely different.

Shoryuken will be at E3 next week and we will give you a full update on this mystery game when we visit Namco Bandai’s booth.

Waiting for that iDOLM@STER fighting game.

    • Justin Archer

I hope this is a joke.

    • hbk2221

  • Yan Zhao

Tekken X Street Fighter at last? Im ready!

  • NyuBomber

Suppose this’ll have any relation to the reported blow-up/disappearance/break from work Harada took?

He was said to be playing a lot of Steam games.

  • Edgar Vaughn

tekken on steam, im calling it!

  • Pooh Hardy

    another 3d fighter?
    like tekken and soul calibur

  • Hey_Sim

    Maybe a new Tekken?

  • David Cox

Hoping for SC6 or a spin off. SC5 would’ve been great had they not butchered the characters and single player elements to distract from its sound versus mechanics.

  • Thomaz Barros

    Heres for Jojo

  • Rahavic

New game will just be an old game or some kind of Capcom style bundle pack that’s technically new and released on Steam.

  • Delecroix Thibaut

    OHh…Tekken X Street Fighter is coming? = )

  • Snow Loss

Probably Smash Bros. They’re working with Nintendo on it aren’t they?

    • EA575

Smash is already announced and will be shown at Nintendo Direct.

  • Crow Winters

    Please new Soul Calibur.

    • Ronldbx6

SC5 just came out last year so, I still consider it fresh. Though, the next SC they make (which will probably be in a few years) I would be interested if they could implement tagging. They kinda already tried that in SC4 though.

      • Quan Chi

Sad that this site barely even covers that game. I like it more than tekken.

  • HombreGranJefe

Calling Marvel vs. Namco. Features include:

    * Everything broken as shit

    • Jake Klippert

I like the sound of that.

    • hbk2221

  • CptPokerface

I would love for it to be the official reveal of TxSF. It could probably even be the announcement for the localization of Jojo’s All-Stars. Either of those would be fantastic, but being a huge Tekken/Street Fighter fan I’d implode if it was Tekken x Street Fighter.

  • I’m hoping it’s the US version of Jojo’s All-Star Battle.

    • samirerre

i tought capcom made those games???

    • Gojira Twit

It’s possible, but doesn’t Hiroshi Matsuyama usually make CC2’s announcements?

  • Jake Klippert

After Namco said that it was difficult putting fireballs into a 3d engine and still having them be effective with characters ability to side step. They added a ton of ranged items to TTT2 and have been trying out other ranged attacks in their 3D engines.

I’m thinking it’s Tekken X Street Fighter on the way. Maybe Namco will have some better fortune with the cross over.

  • Soul Calibur 5 Complete Edition, which comes with some of the DLC (not all of it though)

    • I hope so along with something as minor as a screenshot function for the screenshot function! Okay, I’m more interested in character creation than anything else, but I’m not expecting it. Maybe TxSF or SSB: Iron Fist?

  • Marcus Finney

Im positive that nintendo partnered with namco to do the next SSB. Maybe this is it?

    • Devin Isom

      Except it was announced.

  • eilegz

    tekken x street fighter?!!!

  • Cla

If it really is “a brand new unannounced fighting game” to be presented by Harada, it has to be Tekken 7.

But if that is true…. it does not bode well for TxSF if Namco is already trying to hype T7 before we’ve seen footage of TxSF.

  • Rolan Alcantara

“Namco All Stars Super Melee Utimate Brawl Battle Arena”

  • Ronldbx6

Yeah, I can’t wait for them to really get going with Tekken X Street Fighter but Tekken Tag 2 is still fresh, so I dout it’s Tk X SF. What could it be?

  • Ronldbx6

Wow, someone went on thumbing down rampage for no reason.

    • Justin Archer

Yeah, I don’t know what’s wrong with that guy. Maybe his father beats him.

  • Los Illuminados

Soul Calibur x Samurai Spirits .

  • martin rush

    Tekken 8.

  • samirerre

    bring back the weaponlord already!
tekken is nice and all but we need manly games for once.

  • It looks like the game is Tekken Revolution, a free-to-play version of TTT2 for PS3.

Or at least it LOOKS like TTT2…

    • I don’t know why two dip-shits downvoted you; you answered the question.

  • o ChocolateMilk o

if its another one of those damn Anime fighters I’m going to be mad as hell…. unless it’s another Budokai not ulitimate tenkai mishima battle crap
