ReNiC and special guest Juicebox recently put together another installment of Growing the Beast, once again focusing on the former’s new game, King of Fighters XIII. This episode discusses what skills you need to foster in order to progress, most notably focusing on aggression and taking advantage of opportunities.

“All characters play the same way, really” – Juicebox

lol, I wonder how kof fanboys will react to this. That’s how I always felt about kof.

The concept of “good game” is obviously subjective, but for me, it’s hard to consider a fighting game good when every character plays the same.

Also, you can’t react to shit in kof, you have to anticipate everything. It’s like playing online marvel…

    • Sounds super awesome -__-

    • BlackMasamune

Every character doesn’t play the same, they just all have the same fundamental options. And just because you are too slow to react in KOF, doesn’t mean everyone can’t.

    • Yamazaky Geese

actually you have to react fast and master the execution when you rarely get a chance to punish

or simply dont play kof because you cant handle it

    • samirerre

then you cant handle the heat, son.

gotta agree that you can be more creative in kof13 and other aggressive fighting games. many of those games also reward smart defense. only thing i don’t like about this game is it’s so jump based. just not my personal style but that’s what makes kof, kof.
