Several weeks ago, Team NINJA teased that a new version of Dead or Alive 5 is currently in development. The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals that title to be Tecmo Koei’s “Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate”, set to release this fall for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Dubbed as “3D fighting entertainment”, Dead or Alive 5 was released in 2012, the first new title in the series in 7 years. Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate serves as a compilation of that entertainment, building upon the original with the introduction of new content. Momiji of the Ninja Gaiden series has been confirmed to join the battle in DOA5U, along with the introduction of a new stage, Sky City Tokyo.

New Character: Momiji

CV: Yuko Minaguchi

Kunoichi of the Hayabusa Village and the sole “Dragon Shrine Maiden”. She acts as the older sister of the village’s children. Recognized for her natural talent, she is training under Ryu Hayabusa. In order to test the results of her training, she challenges the fighters in hand-to-hand combat.

New Stage: Sky City Tokyo

Sky City Tokyo is a new stage based on the Ninja Gaiden series. The stage is a sky garden built on top of a skyscraper in near-future Tokyo. Sky City Tokyo’s “Dynamic Attraction”, caused by destruction to the area, triggers a massive Buddha statue that fills beyond the entire screen.

I wonder if we will ever get a DOA vs. VF? Given that DOA do not like Tekken, I doubt a DOA vs. Tekken is likely. Maybe a Tekken vs. VF is possible.

    • Simply Chun-believeable ^_~ ♥♥

Wasn’t it the old guy from TN that left that hated Tekken? I don’t think the new guy feels that way, I hope not, I really want to team up Leifang/Julia, Kokoro/Asuka, Helena/Lili, and Lisa/Christie one day. :(

Why do we need more Ninja’s when we can just have a Bayman clone aka the strongest man in the world?

    • DOATEC T.V

      Momiji isn’t a ninja, and Leon isn’t a Bayman clone =/

      • RunningWild1984

She looks exactly like any other female ninja out there, and you’re telling me she isn’t a ninja?

And Leon isn’t a Bayman clone? News to me. I recall him being exactly like Bayman in 2.

        • DOATEC T.V

She’s a shrine maiden. She only trained under Ryu Hayabusa so she could continue protecting the Eye of the Dragon.. Nothing more Nothing less….

In DOA2 bayman and Leon were more alike than in any other DOA, but still they weren’t exact clones with the same moves. They had moves that differed from eacother. With each passing installment there movesets differed more and more. When DOA4 came around Leon was a complete rush down type, with a tackle, more safes, better combo’s, whiff punishments, and frame traps. Bayman was slower, a defensive type who relied mostly on his parries, advanced counters, his powerful throws, and OH’s. He was much less safer and their movesets had similar moves but was mostly different. Thats some knowledge for your ass.

…The Shrine Maiden of a ninja village can’t be a ninja too? What are you claiming she trained under Ryu for, basket weaving? To take over his antiques shop? If your martial arts training is in ninjutsu… you’re a ninja.

And considering her description in this very article says ‘Kunoichi of the Hayabusa Village’, trying to convince anyone she’s not a ninja is kind of a losing battle.

Since she IS a ninja, and all. ‘Kunoichi’ means ‘female ninja’, FYI.

regardless… you know she’d have to use the fighting style she learned from Ryu, because she can’t use her naginata in DOA

that comment was complete fail, there are no clones in doa

Sup Ein and Hitomi, and Kasumi & Ayane in the earlier games.

        • DOATEC T.V

Ein and Hitomi nor Kasumi and Ayane have never played shit alike in any previous DOA… Ayane always relied on spacing, whiffing, and crushing.. Kasumi relied on her speed, and frame traps. Hitomi relied on her strings to mix up and bully the opponent with constant mind games. Ein was always stronger with his whiff punishments, he had stronger throws, more variety of launchers, but lacked the mix up game that hitomi had..

are we talking like doa2 and earlier? i play and own 3,4 and 5 and they dont play alike,

  • Beb0p

So a new character a new stage. Basically the same shlt. I probably spent more time taking pictures than versing online. Still better than any other fighting game. Riptide came and went, it was a great game but no longer interested in playing it anymore.
