The game’s been picking up a lot of steam with its promotional campaign, and this seems like the cherry on top of it all. It was announced today that Injustice: Gods Among Us will be getting a full playable demo featuring Batman, Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor come April 2 for PlayStation Network and April 3 for Xbox Live. The stage available will be Gotham City, whose stage hazards and different tiers should be picked apart in the following days. The full Warner Bros. press release has been included below.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is scheduled to officially release on April 16 in North America.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced that a free demo for the upcoming DC Comics fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us will be available for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.  Fans can find the demo beginning April 2 on the PlayStation®Network (America), and April 3 on the PlayStation®Network (Europe) and Xbox LIVE® Marketplace.

The Injustice: Gods Among Us demo features Batman, Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor – three playable characters pulled from the game’s robust DC Comics roster.  Set in the Gotham City arena, fans can get a taste of the included characters’ unique super powers and individual move-sets as they destroy elements of the world and fight through the multi-tiered arena.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is an all-new game developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios. The title debuts a bold new fighting game franchise that introduces a deep, original story featuring a large cast of favorite DC Comics icons such as Batman, Green Arrow, Cyborg, Harley Quinn, Nightwing, Solomon Grundy, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and many others. Set in a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred, players will experience heroes and villains engaging in epic battles on a massive scale.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is scheduled for release on April 16, for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Wii U™ system from Nintendo.

Zaid Tabani has been contributing a steady stream of artistic content into the community ever since the resurgence of the fighting game boom. He's been responsible for many well known projects, including(but not limited to) the EVO 2K10 Intro Videos, The EVO 2K11 Theme Song(along with multiple other community members), the documentary series Run It Back and the upcoming film RANBAT. He was even featured in Capcom's "SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV 3D EDITION" commercial, due to his prior work with EVO. He also likes to dress up as a bat occasionally and fight a psychotic crusade against crime. That last part was a joke. Kinda.

I would have enjoyed playing this demo on the Wii U with my WIi U Pro controller. but Apparently the Wii U version is a joke.

    • Laquane Anderson

R we really surprised by this?

      • labaren

Frankly yes. I thought NetherRealm was a good studio who would treat their game equally on all consoles it releases its game on.

But I guess I was wrong.

        • Snow Loss

Don’t blame them, blame Nintendo. They STILL haven’t figured out how to do online or DLC.
I’m not saying NRS is free from blame, but you can only do so much when what you have to work with is so restricting.

          • labaren

I think Wii U’s online is pretty good saying that the TTT2 Wii U version is still on and poppin and they have DLC for characters and Demos for other games..I think NRS just put the game on Wii U just because it shows they pretend to care so they can look better in the eyes of Nintendo fans.

          • ReddChief78

R we really surprised by this? lol Wii U its a joke bruh sorry that you own one

          • labaren

When PS4 and Durango have all their nasty flaws in the open we’ll ee who’s the joke.

          • Snow Loss

And it’ll still probably be Nintendo.

          • ReddChief78

Every console has its flaws but the Wii U is DOA a kiddie console its a joke bruh look what it did to that great game TvC and PS being a joke lol nice try but no will never happen

          • labaren

TVC was a good game you can’t hate on it cuz it was on the wii. It ran in the ARCADES on wii hardware so you can’t even try that. PS4 will be a joke. When you can’t play any of your games without paying almost triple for em and Wii U has all the good games call me.

          • Craig Baker

wait you don’t really believe this right?

        • Trevor Clarke

          I see you prefer Capcom

          • labaren

Not the case at all. just saying that Wii U Got short end of the stick with this game. I do like Capcom but I like NetherRealm too.

          • Trevor Clarke

Well if the Wii U (Wii Shovel) got stiffed by NRS which I don’t know for sure, its certainly not from lack of trying to work with it. You should know that.

          • labaren

We also got no pre-order bonus.

      • you bought that system??? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • ReddChief78

Oh yea NRS is the best lets go

  • Michael Gacillos O’Hair

Eventually, NetherRealm is going to have to make a Looney Tunes fighting game. With all these background effects, floaty jumps, big drops, and heavy things falling on other things and exploding going on it seems almost inevitable.

    • Joey T Medina

As troll as you are trying to be though, a Looney Toons fighting game would be sick idgaf what anyone has to say about that lol.

      • Michael Gacillos O’Hair

Both DC and Looney Toons are owned by Warner Bros. The style of NetherRealm’s game would be a perfect fit. It’s just a matter of putting two and two together.

Games are (or have been viewed as) getting stale because developers, publishers, and IP owners aren’t utilizing all the IP available to them, or chuck old IP (1942, Commando, as a few examples from Capcom) projects at developers who dropped the ball in many ways. Old franchises being reintroduced seemingly out of nowhere (see Ducktales) to revitalize what has been seen to be a meager variety of games.

It couldn’t be any worse than a fighting game with My Little Ponies in it.

        • Langdon Herrick

New consoles are coming out this year. The general public will be too busy caring about that new tech to stop and examine the fact that the last four games they played were the same damn thing.

    • Victor Thammavong

A Looney Tunes fighting game by NetherRealm would be inevitably godlike as fuck. Get yo’ ass bopped by some Bugs Bunny carrot loops.

      • Razberryclownsac

They already got Bugs’s super too. Rename the Doomsday super to, “wrong turn at Albuquerque,” and were set. I’m already excited for it

  • ookamunka

Any chance of online play with the demo or is it going to be offline only?

    • ReddChief78

Probably not but would be cool if it does

  • Ryan Harris

Now all Black Adam needs to say during his super is “This place shall become your grave” and it’ll be perfect.

    • N1Special

at least he says “i’ll spit on your tomb”

  • Martini Whoelse

    When is Marvel? Kappa

  • Steven

    WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT

  • luizfals

    Black Adam 4 world leader.
After thw WW III it’s impossible not to be a fan.

  • Razberryclownsac

I’m really hoping there’s a reason for them getting back up, then falling after their health is depleted is weird. Other than that, this looks like it will be a pretty fun game

    • Rahavic

That animation really does bother me to no end, but that aint enough to stop this comic fan boy. The game could turn out to be utter fuckin trash that just a niche group of people play and I’ll still be getting it day 1. Thank god for a demo as well. Better than Capcom where u gotta just watch vids, hope you maybe are at a convention to try a game out and just hope to god it isn’t complete trash after you drop that $60+ on the thing day 1. Happy I get to try this out early and give NR some more feedback. Good stuff.

      • Razberryclownsac

It’s not terrible and I’m getting it too cause of the DC characters. The game seems ok just takes getting used to. I’ve seen some pretty good combos and have several friends getting it, so I’ll have folks to play with. Isn’t that what is all about anyway? 🙂

  • kinv

    should i care?
