    Cool beans!

  • Trollolo You

DLC for this? Are you kidding me? Oh my..

    • Something wrong?

    • Louis Lam

You could probably find the change for this under your bed, most people probably won’t be interested but it’s not going to affect anyone who isn’t so I don’t see what all the bitching is about.

    • d3v

Then don’t buy it. It’s not like it changes the core gameplay in any way whatsoever.

  • Ryan Marsh Thunder Fairweather

love the game but does anyone actually use “over the shoulder” to play?

    • Mike Pureka

      Maybe to spectate?

      • NickLeake

That’s what I was thinking. Nothing wrong with optional, aesthetic DLC. I’m having a lot of fun with this game so far ^^

  • I_got_that_Glock_unlock

    nice

  • Michael Brooks

how much money does Capcom expect to make selling cabinet skins for a dollar EACH?

  • Leon

    They’re charging us FOR THIS?
    Fuck Cashcom, really.
And the worst thing is, there’s people who actually BUY this.

    • chipsndips

It’s TWO OPTIONAL BUCKS for something that does NOTHING but AESTHETICS. Seriously, guys like you can go fk a wallet.

      • Narcowski

I agree. This non-gameplay-affecting stuff is the best sort of DLC. It’s more purely cosmetic than SFIV skins are, even.

      • MikoSenpai

Apparently you’re one of the guys who saw no slippery slope for DLC between SFIV to SFxT. Besides, how would Capcom be entitled to profit for at least the Cabinet Skins outside a bulk pack? You can make those yourself within a day.

        • chipsndips

That makes no sense. This is AFTER SFIV and SFXTKN. Also, maybe not everyone knows how to design this effect for their PS3/Xbox version of this game? It’s just a little something-something that’s cheap and adds a little flavor to a repackaging of an old game. It’s innocent enough, and we got dudes going “CAAAAASSSSHHHHHCOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!” for no reason.

Also, seriously, more people do on-disc dlc than just Capcom. Not saying it’s optimal for consumers, but that’s not “Capcom exclusive” like remaking the same game 3+ times was.

          • MikoSenpai

            “Maybe not everyone”
Okay, readjust it to the average person educated in the digital arts can recolor some lines, retitle a banner with a consistent font, and add flat textures on a simple model within a day. Its at most as just as silly as implying OPTIONAL AND CHEAP = SHOULDN’T COMPLAIN if we’re gonna argue semantics.

“we got dudes going “CAAAAASSSSHHHHHCOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!” for no reason.”
            I only see one person.

“More people do on-disc dlc than just capcom”
I haven’t bought anything new since Borderlands 2 so not at all a target here. That and we knows from Duke and Aliens, Gearbox doesn’t deserve it.

My point is what makes these even remotely deserving DLC of any money outside justifying even more DLC, and nickel and diming their audience?

          • d3v

And what should be paid DLC then? Anything beyond aesthetic that changes the gameplay shouldn’t be paid DLC since it splits the community and only creates a “pay to win” situation.

          • MikoSenpai

That’s…a really bad attempt at distracting the argument to something far less specific.
Actually you and chips both ignored that I implied I’ll take the arcade themes as something more arguable, but the cabient skins are not anything they couldn’t have added as a bonus in-game or couldn’t have in bulk as DLC.
They’re not going to be a mega popular sale, they don’t do anything to the gameplay itself aesthetically, and its for a niche feature that’s basically a nostalgia bonus in the first place.

Also the “HOW DARE THEY-” sarcasm needs to stop from everyone.
Its just some passive-aggressive evolution of calling someone entitled.

          • lol would that go back to the auto block gem or the gem with the flame on it in sfxtk?

    • i actually wasnt planing on buying it but i am now just because of you

      • Guest

        lol

  • This is completely unnecessary. Why add the cabinet and over-the-shoulder view in the first place? To give them an excuse to come up with this so called dlc. I’ll stick to playing Darkstalkers on my PS2 via the Vampire collection which is substantially more feature rich than this so called collection…

    • enjoy not having online

      • suproman

I agree, but I heard the PS2 collection has near arcade perfect ports of the entire arcade line, and more content on top of that. That’s a huge plus, as this doesn’t even have whole (some of which are considered quality) games that it could have. This is only based on online research on my part, I don’t actually own the Vampire collection on PS2, so I couldn’t tell you for sure.

        • metaxzero

Vampire Collection is like the equivalent of Street Fighter collection for the PS2. But at the end of the day, that game didn’t even get a North American Release and it doesn’t have online play, Darkstalkers Resurrection isn’t perfect, but online mode is a major plus for the majority of players who will never see a decent tourney in their town or state.

          • A sad truth, that’s the main reason I ended up importing the Vampire collection in the first place. The Vampire series never caught on in the states, and while is welcome that they’re releasing the games to a new demographic I kind of feel that they’re forcing themselves into players the same way they did with MVC2. I know online play is important these days for a lot of the community but online doesn’t necessarily make a game better and at least in my position there’s no reason to buy these games when I already have superior versions of them even without the online play, taking also in the consideration the pointless microtransactions the game has in order to fool willing Capcom fans.

        • d3v

The only games worth playing are Hunter and Savior. The original Vampire doesn’t really hold up too well and the pseudo-sequels (Hunter 2 and Savior 2) remove too much of what make Savior fun competitively to be considered worth playing.

      • Not much of an online player anyway, I rather play with my friends like old times. It’s the only disadvantage the Vampire collection has, good for people who are online all the time or have no local community but at least for me online play is not a dealbreaker.

  • Fluttershy

Why didn’t they release a title update for MvC Origins? =(

  • im buying this screw the haters

    • $35897352

thats because you are a braindead fanboy.

      • d3v

This is exactly the kind of DLC that fighting games should have. Nothing essential to the core gameplay, no stages, no characters, no gems, nothing. Everything that I need to be able to play the game at a competitive level should be free on disc.

        • $35897352

Why DLC in the fisrt place? but I agree with “Nothing essential to the core gameplay, no stages, no characters, no gems, nothing”. Unless it is free like patches.

        • labaren

How does a stage affect core gameplay?

  • Ty Arnold

There’s nothing wrong with doing something like this as DLC. I’m just wondering what kind of person would buy it. I thought that the over-the-shoulder mode was kind of a joke option.

    • d3v

Maybe you can use it with an Occulus Rift.

  • iambuttmustard

Oh WOW, this is sooooooooo amazing… :/

  • I_got_that_Glock_unlock

Bitch bot why don’t spam your fake ass pictures of your pussy instead of
this bull shit. You might get some desperate motherfuckas to actually
    come to your site.

  • windsagio

Sad feeling: I loved this series from way back, but now I’m much more excited for the D&D re-releases than for this stuff.

    • d3v

And for what reason exactly? It’s not like they’re nickel and diming you by charging for things that are essential to the core game.

  • TS

How dare they have the nerve to charge for extra content which is purely cosmetic and unimportant, as they announce their free updates and patches!!??!? This is an OUTRAGE.

  • locazo87

A new cabinet for a old game. Even a fanboy can make a better cabinet with MAME inside.

  • labaren

You do know that if this game doesn’t sell the chances of Darkstalkers 4 go down..so all you people who wanna keep the old stuff just remember there won’t be much new.
    Just Saying.

    • Petran79

I wouldnt want DS4 to be created by that kind of executives.

  • Jason Slade

This DLC is pretty cruddy but I don’t see any reason to whine about an optional mode that only affects the look of the game.

  • Austin Davoren

Why isn’t there an option to set GGPO at the start of the match like Skullgirls?
    Is it an interface issue?

I hate setting my ggpo to 1 or 2 for 1 match then having to go back and change it again on another part of the menu to play with someone who lives a little further away.

  • PaleHorseman

One of the things that got me excited about Resurrection was the VAULT mode that they heavily boasted, explaining how your play time could allow you to unlock extra goodies. THIS is what would’ve set the game apart from being a simple repackage (with online) to a totally new experience their fans could enjoy. What could those goodies possibly be?? I was genuinely excited! Extra character colors? Head swap variants? Cosmetic add ons? Alternate endings? Avatar icons and backgrounds for your player ID? Nope, there isn’t even a player ID to put icons or backgrounds on. The “goodies” we did get were a couple of pictures any lazy intern could’ve downloaded from the web and the victory movies you could watch by beating the game. Why are these cabinet skins not part of what you could unlock? The reason this DLC is so disappointing is not because they’re charging us for it, but the fact they’re charging us for a LAZY add on product. What kind of effort did this DLC really take? One of their digital artists taking 2 mins of work to copy and paste? Hell, I would gladly pony up some cash for DLC that actually took EFFORT, or looked liked they cared about giving their fans a decent product… but this? Your fall from grace is showing, CAPCOM. For shame.

  • Azteck9

Fixed a bug where Pyron, Phobos, ad Donovan are in the available character selection in Darkstalkers 3.

    • d3v

This is Vampire Savior, not DS3.

      • Azteck9

You live on this website don’t you? Homeless ass sleeping in the library.
