UPDATE – Darkstalkers Resurrection is now available on Xbox Live.
As many of you are probably aware, this week will see the release of Darkstalkers Resurrection on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, Resurrection bundles two fan-favorite installments of the Darkstalkers series (Night Warriors and Darkstalkers 3), providing new players a chance to try out the niche titles for themselves and old-school heads a modern console release.
Much like previous offerings from Iron Galaxy Studios, Darkstalkers Resurrection is no simple re-release. The title features a number of HD visual filters and online options, including player and ranked matches, eight-man lobbies, and a tournament mode, all supported by the smooth GGPO netcode. Tutorials were also added for players who are diving into the series for the first time, and in-game achievements will unlock special things like concept art and more.
Like with any storied franchise, there are also a few great resources available online for those of you looking to learn the game. Our wiki entries here on Shoryuken are full of great general game knowledge, and the folks over on Mizuumi maintain an extensive Vampire Savior (Darkstalkers 3) database of character information and strategies, so be sure to check them both out.
