Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Roundup – “Demolition Chris” by Needlecrash Belgrave, Firebrand Anti-Dark Phoenix Tech, and More

By on February 26, 2013 at 10:04 am

Chris Redfield is not a very popular character in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. There are only a few players that actually use him in tournament play or on a professional level. As a matter of fact, he’s very underrated and Needlecrash Belgrave is here to show you why he shouldn’t be.

Compared to the other gun toting characters like Deadpool and Wesker, Chris lacks the speed to keep up. However, unlike those two characters, Chris is a powerhouse and can easily kill with one touch. Needlecrash put a lot of work into this video, so check it out and let us know what you think.

Although many people don’t use her anymore, Phoenix/Dark Phoenix is still a threat to most. Players like Viscant and Filipino Champ still dominate with her, so who do you turn to for help if you can’t snap her out? Thanks to umvc3ing, the answer to that question is Firebrand. Putting really good use to THC’s and DHC’s, he was able to setup a Phoenix into Dark Phoenix unblockable with quite a few characters. Take a look and give Firebrand some love.

Making his debut into the combo video world, Dolin Dola is up next with a Ghost Rider combo video. With the help of Deadpool and Nova, he was able to make this Ghost Rider team a nasty one. Want my advice to play against this team? Don’t block!

And lastly, in this short combo video titled “I Think I Can”, Huey253 and kiddovaipah showed off some pretty interesting tech with Strider Hiryu as the point character. If you have Vergil or Doctor Doom on your Strider team and you’re looking for a few practical combos, then this video might give you a few ideas.

    that flcl music  !

i stopped the chris video once he called that simple Lp reset the “Needlecrash” reset. and also why does his bnbs all have spencer assist in them?

    • shotofighter4

      Because dudebros.

    • Tristan Belgrave

It’s more of an “inside joke” to the guys that I play with often. Also, Spencer’s assist allows me to get the opponent to stand on their feet. Makes things flow a bit better. If you’re going to bitch about something as minor as that, then I don’t know what you’re problem is. Chill out.

      • Reginald Kelly

bnbs shouldnt rely on assists. im not bitching. im just wondering y u would say such nonsense lol.

        • Tristan Belgrave

I did not specify which combos are B&B’s specifically, minus the one I labelled “B&B Favorite”. It’s pointless to continue this conversation. You’ve made your point and I’ve made mine. We’re done here.

        • shotofighter4

People who use Slant Shot use it for combos. It’s not like it’s a “make my offense safe” assist.

        • James

thats only true for anchors. Almost every player has a BnB with assists on their point character… that’s why they’re point characters…

  • RenaTurnip

That video wasn’t Firebrand. That was Red Arremer :Kappa:

  • Low tier heros, good stuff.  B)

only problem i have with that great chris video is the damage ratings. It seems your note says XF lvl 1 but it seems you used XF lvl 3.

    • Tristan Belgrave

Actually, it was level 1. If it was level 3, the damage would have been much higher. I had X-F set to level 1. I’ll check it out again but I’m sure it was set to level 1.

  • MilkSmash

    That strider video was cute.

  • Jason Kert Foley

My Nemesis combovid didn’t get into the roundup this time….:C

Great stuff, though, really liking the Strider tech, as well as the Ghost Rider unblockables.

  • James

Ghost Rider video… looked a lot more damaging than it actually was. Poor Ghost Rider…

  • Snow Loss

These videos as of late have me considering trying to pick up my old Shuma, Chris, Sentinel team again.

  • Stevy Anaya

Glad people are still making more unecessary anti-Phoenix tech,

when Vergil, Morrigan and Doom dominate the tournament scene.

    • BoodaSRK

I’m gonna have to second that. Watching Chris G isn’t lame because of how HE plays, it’s because nobody has any tech that works against him. It’s like watching him beat up a training dummy.
