By on February 24, 2013 at 8:30 pm

It’s still winter, but the Northeast will be heating up this weekend with Winter Brawl 7! WB7 is organized by Big E Gaming and Gaming Vision Network and sponsored by Namco Bandai, Mad Catz, Atlus, Team NINJA and VXG. The Winter Brawl tournament series got its start as a Dead or Alive tournament, but has since expanded to become one of the largest tournaments in the Northeast. Along with Northeast Championships and Summer Jam, Winter Brawl is a part of the Big E Gaming series of events. While previous Big E Gaming events were held at the Sheraton Suites, since last year’s NEC, the series has moved to the Holiday Inn, located one mile from the Philadelphia International Airport.

  • Riot

Ski trying to avoid Hakan puns killed me.

  • Dynami

Marvel on the main stream and the side stream? Some pretty weak scheduling atm

    • Herbert Jones Rovbinson

      More like strong scheduling!

    • Emezie Okorafor

The FGC is digging it’s own grave by continuing to put all its eggs in one basket.

It’s only a matter of time before the floor drops out.

      • Los Illuminados

        indeed. well said.

  • Art Salmons

I’m seeing a MAME config screen on the UMK3 stream. Piracy alert!!!!

  • Derek Douglas

    So much stream..

  • WasiKaBooM

Fifty and a half streams and not one is showing a bit of SFxT, the most interesting game at the moment. No avoiding Marvel, i guess …

    • UseProtection

Plus no TTT2 of KOF13. It was a bad day.

    •  Yup, seems this community is content with broken comic book games and tired old AE. Most don’t even know about 2013 and insist the game is still jab x time over.

      • I never liked spectating UMC3 but I prefer it by FAR now to boring AE. Can SFxT please replace AE already.

        • Guest

I can’t believe what I am reading, when the hell did everyone who hated SFxT so badly decide they loved it so much

          • Peter Loney (ピーター)

When the game changed completely with 2013?

          • sb

Its the same damn game not much different at all just like AE they make a patch call the game 20XX and the sheep just eat it up who ever thought of that at Capcom sure got a good raise its cool to like SFxT now so the sheep followed thats all changed completely lol

          • Peter Loney (ピーター)

I don’t think you know much about fighting games if you don’t realise how huge a difference making rolls punishable and the buff to throws was.

      •   Could it be that perhaps people like AE and Marvel because they are
good and fun games? Just because something is new doesn’t mean its good.
I’m not saying SFXT is a bad game, I’m just saying that you shouldn’t demean other games simply because yours is not at the level of popularity you believe it should be at.

Also, Vanilla SFXT had a some pretty good points aganist it (Timeouts were a problem even at High Level play, Pandora was USELESS, Jab Pressure was too strong, etc) it won’t drop its bad reputation overnight even though a good amount of top players are enjoying the game.

  • This Windjammers game is hype!

  • looks like st is not going to be streamed, am i right ?

  • Andy Garron

Strange player on Dragonball Breakfast Club was Flipkev.

  • Dexterpaddles

    is there a TTT2 bracket?

  • Man, even DOA5’s top4 was way more hype than SFxT2013.

The crowd literally started cheering every time a Time Out happened in top 8. Goes to show what we all expected from that game. Which is a shame. At least its Grand Final was a very hype set, but the rest of the matches were just as bad as vanilla.

    • Zonder88

      Chun Li, Rufus, and Hwoarang.

The only 3 characters you’ll ever see in a top8 from now on.

      • Robbie J

hasn’t 2013 only been out for like a month? remember when scr had 7 weskers in top 8

        • RenaTurnip

Don’t you know how broken Wesker is?! Best character in the game! He needs nerfs Capcom please!!!!11!!1!1

  • Julio D. Zulkarnain

SFxT was hype when the players stopped playing it like SF4. Congratulations for Dieminion, his Raven/Hwo team was great! Hope to see more SFxT in the future!

  • H_Magnus

    Windjammers and Virtua Fighter…

Best Sunday I’ve had in a while.

    • Jaxel

  • eilegz

epic win chris well done, even used firebrand, it maked look pr rog so free which its not, about yipes choking it was expected. But seems that chris g that wolverine or logan rushdown for this match.

Pr rog rage quit it was exquisite  the sodiums and salt levels were so high i wish that there its a interview to see its saltiness xD

    • Zonder88

You should’ve seen PR Rog playing pools in SFxT. That nig almost went 0-2, got lucky as fk in his 2nd match cause his oppoent dropped a combo. Popped off like crazy against the dude that beat him in the first match, bitching at how “he used Zangief” and shit talk like “Im sponsored bro”.

No wonder he and F.Champ get along. They are almost the same LMAO

  • Jesse Cruz

    Couldn’t agree more @eilegz

  • David Eller

There were only 10 signups for 3s including myself and J.Wong, and we were refunded our five dollars each because there were not enough people to have a tournament. I have no idea where those 3s results came from, but I certainly am not happy about either reason why they are there.

    • GCBill

Well that sucks -.- Maybe they did an unofficial round robin? Regardless of what actually happened, they should’ve told everyone who originally signed up.

  • shotofighter4

Proud to be part of a community always crying out for balance, that mostly ignores VF5 while 11 unique characters are represented in its top 8.

    • Robbie J

Probably because vf5 is so boring to look at, im sure its a good game but its so boring to watch

  • BoozerX

Dat ChrisG now play zoning and rushdown at the same time. LMAO.

  • Max Cancel

Yipes combo drop was so painful my hype levels hit the floor when that happen, I didn’t even watch the rest. Fuck Bifuteki and THICK ASIANS FTW!!

  • HombreGranJefe

That venue’s internet connection was fucking garbage.  All I got was dropped frames and lag lag lag.  I ended up watching Windjammers; 8WR had no problems with their 4G connection.

  • Jaxel

    Replays for my stream….

  • Louis Lam

CT|Mew2King (Marth, Sheik, Jigglypuff, Captain Falcon, Samus, Bowser)

  • Herbert Jones Rovbinson

Please nobody let Bifuteki stream anything ever again.

    Where the hell was F.Champ?
