Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 – Arthur Super Jump Conversions by Urichinan

Urichinan‘s latest Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 video continues the super jump conversion trend with Arthur. Arthur has always been a somewhat awkward character to use, but it’s actually not that hard to convert into full damage off a super jump. Granted, he has to be careful about his positioning and he never had the best damage in the game to begin with, but most of these combos will lead to a character death via DHC.

Neat video of Sir Arthur… but this is Marvel vs. Capcom 3. This shit clearly shows “effort,” so… yeah… ain’t gonna fly ’round these parts.

Woah 46 minutes and the Marvel White Knights ain’t trying to insult this dude. Guess he was right. lol

I love this game and I still agree. Effort =/= success in Marvel.

  • MasterChibi

This character deserves actually fucking mobility. Like everyone else in the damn game.

    • http://twitter.com/TheDuke2007 Devin

can’t have that. they want him to play like he did in the game he’s from >_<

      • MasterChibi

I mean as a game designer you have to look at the rest of the game and how everyone else operates, and what kind of a game it is and ask yourself why the fuck you would gimp a character like that.

      • Narcowski

Because Chun-Li can triple jump in Street Fighter :)

I play this character and his mobility isn’t bad, it is just different. With his other options if he had better mobility he would be way too broken. Getting used to how Arthur moves is much like getting used to how Doctor Doom moves. One of the scariest things you can do to someone with Arthur is Jump towards someone. He has options to stuff some of the cheaper charaters in the game like wesker, the Sparda bros, and if you have 4 meters even stuff Dark Phoenix (kill her with the very start of “For the Princess” and since Arthur is invincible he does not suffer the blowback from the transformation, if she is stuck in blockstun then Xfactor cancel the lvl3 and do goddess braclett for the chip death :)

      • MasterChibi

No, fuck different. I want good. Being commited to a double jump in a game like this is retarded. And you say ‘broken’ in a game like this and yet mention the ‘Sparda bros’ and DP. Broken is par the course, he should flat out not be gimped. Take off the commitment to the jump. Give him a tiny bit of air mobility. Anything.

Yup, Arthur’s good shit needs to be a fuck of a lot better to be worth no dash and no ability to move during a super jump.

      • xactionbasturdx

I second this statement arthur doesnt have bad mobility…its just different…not as good as top tier characters but its there, you just have to have a better understanding of the character…hes actually on my alt team and i run him on point so i understand where you are coming from

he’s one of those characters that change something very minor like that and he becomes godtier most likely.  just like if Strange had an airdash.  I’m sure Capcom tested that stuff and saw it was too powerful

      • http://twitter.com/esruckcype Preston B McAllister

Giving Strange and Arthur mobility would make them too powerful. And yet Zero mobility options make him a perfectly high-mid character…

I don’t mean to be mean, but do you people play or even *see* the game you are talking about when you throw around words like “too powerful” or “broken” to tweaks to low-tier characters?

Arthur with standard mobility options would still be one of the crappier characters in the game on-point. But at least he wouldn’t feel so specialist-hard to play in a game with derpy air-dash/tri-dash 50/50s

    godlike run

  • RenaTurnip

… These combos did really really good damage.

Why is nobody good with Arthur?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=501909299 Chaan Niccaples Thomas

Simple. Because Arthur is hard as fuck to play as, and even if you beat someone once with him, you have to go through and do it all over again.

There are a few online warriors I’ve met with amazing Arthur skills, and amazing other low tier characters as well…I’ve gotten RAPED by Arthurs, RRs, Firebrands, and there is a Hseinko player as well that I have trouble against…the characters are DIFFERENT but they aren’t impossible, they have their clear disadvantages but not too many players are committed enough to finding out their potential…look at what Kusoru did with his unique team…look at Abegen’s and Tonosama’s teams…these characters require a considerable amount of effort unlike the top tier monotonous characters that EVERYONE plays…imagine how much UNDISCOVERED tech/synergy with lower tier teams there is and how much of it would come to light if the majority didn’t succumb to the “I gotta play top-tier” standard. I wonder…
