Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Grand Finals Champions Damdai, MOV, and WW.MCZ|Infiltration Discuss Their Individual Victories

While checking out the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary grand finals this past weekend, Gootecks (reporting for Gamespot) took the time to talk to the event’s three first place finishers. Damien “Damdai” Dailidenas discusses his victory in Super Street Fighter II Turbo and what it was like to come out on top in a tournament full of killers, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike champion Jo “MOV” Egami talks about his long history with the game and what exactly it was that he was breathing into during the tournament, and Seonwoo “Infiltration” Lee of Western Wolves and Mad Catz dives into the strategy behind his EVO 2012 rematch against teammate Daigo Umehara and how he overcame falling into the losers bracket in both games.

MOV on what to do with his winnings: “Let’s drink it!  All of us!” What a rad guy, haha.

always had floe, with fighting, with driving fast, with racing games, with fighting games, with basketbal.

its not hard to do imo, what is hard about floe is keeping it up. like during a fighting game, i can go in that state without realizing it, and without realizing it get out of it. i think its like an adrenaline rush or something comparable to it. its usually in bursts. i dont know how long anybody can stay in that state, it probably costs a lot of energy as well cause youre probably using a lot more brainpower than your normally using even on a school day.

these are my own observations btw. even your pores feel open and you can even feel your surroundings more than you normally can. sometimes also get in that state when playing cod, i dont normally play fps but sometimes i get the same floe in these games as well and everything just falls together.

i think warriors or fighter back in the old eras where they faced off against each other they probably also had floe. it almost feels like putting your life on the line, and sometimes all youre doing is just playing a game on joypad/stick.

last part about it. sometimes people even floe when doing something aritstic like drawing or making music.

good to learn something you knew but didnt know the wording of.

I like how humble he is in victory. Really seems like a down to earth guy. But when it comes to playing the game, he’s like an emotionless machine!

I don’t know who you’re referring to, because all you said was ‘he’, but either way, you’re wrong. That doesn’t describe any of these three guys. Daigo maybe, not infiltration for sure. Did you see that guy giving high fives and fist pumps, laughing, smiling? I’m not sure what you were watching.
