With 2013 rapidly approaching, we thought it was time to let you in for the date and location for Evo’s World Finals for next year.  The Evolution 2013 Main Event will be held on July 12-14, 2013 at the fabulous Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Evolution Championship Series represents the largest and longest-running fighting game tournaments in the world. Evo events bring together the best of the best from around the world in a dazzling exhibition of skill and fun, as players and fans gather to honor the competitive spirit in an open format and determine a champion.

      Sure why not. I know a bunch who would show up there and of course I don’t think they stand a chance in hell but whatever, they’ll have fun. The setting being in a fancy casino you’d imagine the tournament settings being of higher standards. They should just get it sponsored by say Mountain Dew or something.

        Evo’s organizers still keep thinking bush-league; they need to clean up and start acting Pro.

        Also, you can take dubstep and shove it where there’s no direct-dialing.

      as long as its the same size as 2011 we should be fine.
      This year’s  ballroom was a 20,000 feet decrease from 2011

    The Paris is pretty awesome. It’ll be nice to be back at EVO to see all my friends I only get to see once a year. As for the games? I could really care less what they’re running, who makes top..etc. I’ll be going for the good times and great memories.

    Man, this is gonna be so hype. Gimme that KOFXIII, Tekken Tag 2, and (hopefully) Chronophantasma. I mean hey, we already know AE and UMVC3 will be there. They can even try to squeeze in that Injustice if they want.

    As much as I like watching EVO, all this trailer accomplished was announcing that EVO still exists…no real breaking news like line-up or anything (though we know UMvC3 and AE will be there for sure).

        Yeah, because hating on EVO organizers for getting EVO on the strip at the tradeoff of 20,000 sq ft of ballroom space and taking measures to ensure paid attendees actually have seats is a horrible thing. 

        Then they go out next year, stay on the strip,  and still get (perhaps) their biggest ballroom ever?

    Please give DOA5 a chance. Everyone can make fun of the boobs all you want, but that doesn’t change the fact that the gameplay in DOA5 is legit and deserves a chance in the spotlight of a high profile tourney. Did Mai’s boobs make KOF13 any less of a real fighting game? Nope. And boobs don’t affect DOA’s gameplay either. The addition of Virtua Fighter chars spoke volumes to New Team Ninja’s efforts to create a serious fighting game, and the final product delivered big time on those aspirations. Unfortunately too many people judged the book by its cover and ignored the game based on only the name alone.

    So what games can we predict will be there… Well Tekken Tag 2 obviously. Too much hype around that game to ignore. SSF4 and UMvC3 as always. Could the re-release of Guilty Gear spark enough hype for a spot on Evo2K13′s roster? I think it’s safe to say that Persona will be there. I hope Injustice gets in because we need to support American-made fighters in hopes that more American companies will take a stab at the genre. Skullgirls deserves a shot too if the patch is as good as we all hoped it would be. I hope that Mane6 manages to finish Fighting Is Magic so that there can at least be a side tourney on some Stream at Evo. I wonder if the new Darkstalkers that Capcom is still trying to pretend doesn’t already exist will come out before Evo2K13. Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown deserves another shot but I understand that the hype for that game is unfortunately way too low.
