IGN Pro League AE 2012, SFxTK Exhibition Matches Featuring EG|Justin Wong, EG|PR Balrog, BT|Dieminion, and FNEX|KBrad Streaming Live from IPL 5

IPL Fighters recently went live with their broadcast of IGN Pro League’s IPL 5 event in Las Vegas, Nevada. Today, they’ll be discussing the newly revealed details regarding Capcom’s involvement with the eSports organization as well as streaming a variety of exhibition matches in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012 and Street Fighter x Tekken. Justin Wong and PR Balrog of Evil Geniuses, Brokentier’s Dieminion, and KBrad of Fight Nation EX will all be in attendance to duke it out and provide looks at both games before they are officially inducted next year.

On the surface, I like this a lot. Sounds like there is going to be more money for the top tier players, a couple more majors a year hosted by IPL and satellite tournaments where winners get flown to these majors which will be great for increasing the popularity of fighting games.

What I don’t like is how evidently IPL, one of, if not the largest E-sports brands that has put on many huge tournaments, runs multiple streams every day of the week in high definition for paying customers, and is trying to promote a new product (fighting game division), can’t be bothered to properly run a stream consisting of 4 top players and a couple of announcers.

Oh, but if this fails I’m sure its because everyone in the FGC has a bad attitude and aren’t good for sponsors right?
