Capcom Trademarks “Fighters of Capcom” Title

Rockman Corner is reporting that Capcom recently filed a new trademark for the title Fighters of Capcom. While further details are obviously unavailable at this time, we may be seeing the first glimpse of a brand new, all-Capcom fighter, perhaps in a similar vein as 2004′s Capcom Fighting Evolution.

  Actually fighting games were ambitious by saying screw you to the “grind to have the full toolset” model and that is great. Time equals money and if the game forces you to grind to have a fully developed character instead of letting you have it from the get-go, then it’s not really free.
  The only anomaly is SFXT which luckily did not receive support anyway.

interesting, I’m hoping for a Capcom vs Capcom game though that title is kinda lame so maybe this is it. Though I’m still more hype about the killer instinct trademark being revived. So 2 good things to hope for atm.

Capcom is aiming to get a slice of the “casual” fighting game market, like SSB and PSASBR. You can mark these words. Oh, and expect the usual 3-4 re-releases with added names, Capcom style.

I had an idea for a SF game called Scramble Fighters. It is a SF game based on SFxT scramble mode. In light of TTT2 and PlayStation All-Stars, I think Capcom needs an internal vs game. Personally, I would prefer a SF only game like TTT2 but I know other Capcom fans would want an entire Capcom fighting game. I think Capcom Fighting Jam was great in idea but bad in execution. I hope Fighters of Capcom is the Capcom vs Capcom game Sven have been advocating. I am already looking forward to Super Fighters of Capcom in 2013
