RUMOR – AE 2012 and UMvC3 Heading to Wii U?

The holiday season is here and everyone is rushing out to buy a Wii U and a bunch of Wii U accessories. While browsing through Wallmart’s offerings, you may have noticed the interWORKS Cheat Controller Clip, which allows you to clip your smartphone directly to the Wii U controller and comes with a free BradyGames cheat/strategy feed app.

What’s interesting about this listing isn’t the device itself, but the fact that the box’s screenshots show Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012 artwork and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 move-lists. This has led some to theorize that AE 2012 and UMvC3 may be coming to the Wii U in the future, but right now its nothing more than speculation. The screenshots also show off a Forza 4 controller layout for the Xbox 360, on an actual 360 controller, so take it all with a grain of salt. It may just be shoddy photoshopping meant to excite an already ravenous Black Friday crowd.

    I know right! All of these great fighting games never made it to the Wii. The Wii U would give these companies an opportunity to expand their fanbase, not to mention the FGC in general, to the people that were never able to play them.

Personally re-buying TTT2 on Wii U once I get my hands on the system after the holidays. If AE releases for it with some interesting extras I might give that a second go but I doubt it (already have it on 360 and PC and I don’t really play that much at this point).

      Making objective statements about somethings as subjective as gaming tastes is pointless. There is no ‘best’, just whatever you enjoy playing the most. AE2012 is the only game I play because I love it to death and I never get bored of it, but no disrespect to other people who like other games.

        Have you played KoF? I would argue that KoF is better than SF in a lot of aspects. I just don’t have the execution to play the newer games, or I would be playing it as well. Not only that, people who have sat down with KoF for an extended period of time have said KoF is an amazing game.

        Yes as I stated I played KoF 13, I did not like it as much as SF4. And You’re time line is jacked CvS2 came out a decade ago in 2002, so how can it be the best fighting game of this decade? I do agree that it is probably the best fighting game that has come out in a very long time, but it is not on the current gen consoles, it never will be. So for those who cannot play it or never will play it, just keep it to games that have come out in the last 10 years when you say best of the decade. That being said AE is the Heavy hitter for this generation of fighters. Until it’s topped I’ll stick by that. KoF is ok, just not better at all.

  The reason I want them on the Wii U (I might get SFIV) is because it’ll show there’s a market there. Perhaps the new BlazBlue I can buy for my Wii U. Perhaps P4A will get a Wii U port, or the new KoF. It’s to simply show that there is a market there and that we want this.

It’s just an adapter so you can stick your phone into it, and have cheats or a walkthrough up on it while you play. Whoever made it probably just used it as an example, because they have no idea what games are actually on Wii U.

Whenever I do get my Wii U, I probably won’t play any fighters on it, unless it
gets exclusive fighters that are AMAZING. I’ll stick with Marvel and AE
on my PS3 for now. This is good news for Wii U owners that never picked
up these games on other systems though.

I think I would probably be tempted to make the switch, but that would depend on being able to get most of the current fighting games on WiiU. If it meant I could play them at 1080p 60fps & if there were decent wired sticks & solid online then I would be sold.. However thats a pretty big ask. I’d say the sucess of FG’s on the WiiU rests on the shoulders of TTT2 sales, not on old press release pictures used to pad out a rather suspicious third party controllers box art.

It looks extremely like dodgy photoshopping like you mentioned with the Forza 4 and Xbox 360 controller, I also spot another mistake where it overlaps the 4 buttons on the controller in the main picture but look at the other two pictures, it’s got a completely different design. I don’t think this is happening, besides, I have never seen any controllers from Brady Games here.. just their crappy guides.

I doubt it. The thing is, the game above it titled “forza 4″ is an xbox exclusive. So unless MS bought out nintendo recently, I don’t see that happening. Also the artwork on both AE12 and UMVC3 look way off.

Not to mention,there’s a picture of the xbox controller on the box itself

  Expensive HDD? That would be the fault of Western Digital and Seagate…
  In any case, the Wii U actually uses a Solid-State Drive, which are currently much more expensive per GB than a Hard-Disk Drive. However, it is apparently expandable, meaning savvy (and somewhat rich) Wii U owners will be able to play many, many games with very short load times.
  
  Also, I’m curious as to what you want in next-gen consoles. At this point in time, if you want a gaming console that costs less than $400, it too won’t be that much better than the PS3 or XBOX360, unless the developers are selling them at a loss.
