Persona 4 Arena SMP Bypass Glitch Tutorial

One of the unique features of modern Arc System Works games is something called Same Move Proration (SMP for short). It’s a system that decreases the damage done each time a move is repeated in a combo. However, as is usually the case with fighting games put under competitive scrutiny, the players have long found a way to bypass the system.

As this video by DoctorNK demonstrates, the SMP system in Persona 4 Arena can only store up to 10 attacks in its memory, meaning the 11th attack that comes out is no longer subject to SMP. This allows for damaging, extended loops that go on until they’re caught by hitstun deterioration. Of course, there are a couple of other rules that players will need to keep in mind to fully utilize this.
