Alex Ahad, Skullgirls’ lead artist and character designer, stopped by Salty Cupcakes this week to answer fan questions. He talks a lot about the art process behind Skullgirls, including how the team chose character palettes, how palettes work, and more. In fact, Alex says there are 101 palettes planned for Parasoul alone! He also talks a little bit about the future of the game, mentioning that more Skullgirls themed merchandise is in the works. More color 18′s were revealed and talked about in this episode, including an interesting Samurai Shodown reference.
One of the most interesting topics of the night included moves and animations that never got into the game. Double apparently has even more moves and animations that were cut for time, as do much of the rest of the cast. These animations still exist though, so we might see them in an update down the line.
