Green Arrow Joins the Cast of Injustice: Gods Among Us, Updated Build Heading to New York Comic-Con

Entertainment Weekly’s Pop Watch has an exclusive first look at Injustice: Gods Among Us’ latest revealed character, Green Arrow. He appears to be much more in-your-face than one would expect from an archer, but also utilizes a variety of trick arrows to keep his opponents at bay.

Let us know in the comments what you think of Oliver Queen’s inclusion in NetherRealm Studios’ upcoming fighter and the short look at his gameplay we were offered. Hector Sanchez tweeted last night that they would be bringing an updated and rebalanced build of the game to New York Comic-Con, so expect to see more footage of Green Arrow in the near future.

         Similar looking moves doesn’t always mean a similar gameplay style.  The two games themselves play nothing alike, so even calling them both “keepaway” characters would be too simplistic.

       Character wise? They are both archers and they both wanna sleep with almost every woman. Thats pretty much it. Green Arrow is more like Iron man if Tony Stark was an archer.

    I like how this Green Arrow looks. It doesn’t look like he’s made to be as quick as Hawkeye because it’s not Marvel 3. It would be cool if he had an arrow tat could ricochet off the walls/floor similar to Hol Horse’s bullet moveset. But still…this mothafucka is fire.

    I’m kinda surprised at how traditional his appearance is.  I thought they were going to make him look all EXTREME!!1!!1!!, but contrary to my expectations, Green Arrow looks like Green Arrow.  I like it.

    Since the New 52 started with DC Comics, I’ve  really been getting into the stories.  I would be excited for this game, but I don’t like MK’s system.  I could never get into it.  I would probably rent this if anything.

    Now if the can take away the old Ric Flair getting hit at the end of a round and falling down, just to stand up again for a quick second, just to fall right back down to the ground. Honestly the whole end of the match is so dull in this game, in MK it made sense I mean ok they get hit and get back up or just stand there dazed because there are Fatalities. This game there are none, so why are they trying to get back up, just so they can fall back down again? Or even worse is if this game also copied over (yes copied, if not then u tell me why characters attempt to stand back up again at the end of a round in a game with no fatalities) the old I jabbed you for the win so you stand there in front of me for a split second and fall to the ground like a knocked over book shelf. I just don’t get it.

    And how about some impact at the end of a round on the last hit NR? I saw footage where Superman freaking punches Nightwing to the ground from space to win the round, and what happens? Superman slowly floats down the ground (mind u the match is over at this point Nightwing has no life left), Nightwing does the Ric Flair aka stands up real quick and then proceeds to fall right back down and then it just says Superman Wins! Thats it……..thats it? Cmon NR!

     This one was pretty predictable. With the upcoming “Arrow” TV series, and Green Arrow having his own successful New 52 comic, DC definitely wasn’t gonna let him out of this game.

    It was almost as predictable as all the idiotic comments calling Green Arrow’s gameplay a rip-off of Hawkeye’s.

    First they steal the opening freeze-frame action thingy, and now Green Hawkeye.

    ‘Doesn’t matter if Green Arrow was written first, it matters who stole who’s video game style. It hurts my eyes to see Hawkeye move so clunky, like clay-mation.

    Maybe this game is really the surprise sequel to Clayfighter?

    my reaction to green arrow is mixed. I like the character and I like how he has some of his moves from Task force, but also I can tell one of his specials right away is really only a combo filler/ender, and that’s what I didn’t like about MK9. In blazblue, each special move has a purpose as well as being able to be used in combos. In MK9 a lot of the specials (ex. Liu Kang’s kick specials) were just to be used to combo to and from, which is fun enough but it makes the character and the game repetitive. No one wants to play that way and no one wants to fight someone who plays that way.

    Personally I want to see more of Superman. His specials seemed to have more real-time usage.
