Tekken Tag Tournament 2 – 1.02 Patch Available Now; Includes Game Fixes, Miharu, Sebastian, Slim Bob, Additional Stages, and More

Namco Bandai’s Katsuhiro Harada recently took to Twitter to provide some information regarding the October 9th update to Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Version 1.02 includes corrections for two glaring issues (Kunimitsu’s crouching hitbox, Ancient Ogre’s infinite), adds Miharu, Sebastian, and Slim Bob to the roster as unlockable fighters, provides access to the Russia, Saudi Arabia, Chile, and Poland stages,  and opens up the Online World Arena.

Reports are coming in that the patch is now available for PlayStation 3, but Xbox 360 users have yet to receive the notification and may have to wait until tomorrow. For now, feel free to take a look at Famitsu’s previews of the characters and stages included in this latest update.

            Because restricting on-disc content to get more pre-orders is cool?  Yeah, that’s exactly what the FGC needs: more hassle for tournament holders who didn’t pre-order multiple copies of the game.

            Withholding on-disc media is wrong, even when Capcom’s not the one doing it. EDIT: And of course you were charged for the characters! They’re on the disc!

            Well the difference is that they gave us a crap load of content and features anyway and haven’t charged extra for the locked characters. Overall I am really happy with Namco though it would have made sense to unlock the preorder characters to everyone 1st to bring them into tournaments before they are already completely mastered by some people. Over in the UK the pre orders were exclusive to a crappy website so barely anyone has them anyway.

        You’re not thinking like a tournament player.  It kinda sucks when you’re in a pool and your main character is only available on one of three consoles.  At least with Capcom’s crappy DLC scheme, there was a POSSIBILITY of getting the DLC characters on your console. 

        The game has been out a month already.  This arbitrary wait is helping no one.

             We cannot afford to be this biased.  The FGC needs to be consistent: is restricting on-disc content for profit okay, or is it not okay?  You can’t let this fanboy stuff cloud your judgment.

          I am a tournament player, but I still don’t care… Just suck it up and play a different character until the release, there’s tons of good ones to choose from. I wanted to play Ancient Ogre, but I got Kunimitsu and Angel for my Pre-order bonus, so I made the effort to learn someone else for tournaments until he is available for me.

          “Free” in the context that we didn’t have to pay extra besides the purchase of the game.  Whereas if it were Capcom each character would be 200+ MS points and $$ on PSN.  Don’t misconstrued the benefit of not having to pay for extra add-ons, regardless if they’re hidden on the disc. Most companies would never unlock them without a price.

          Well I bought a copy of the game and I received the extra content for free, I did not have to pay for day 1 DLC and inevitable chunks of DLC scattered across the few month prior to the games release. People made a big deal when requesting characters such as Dr.B and Kunimitsu etc. So Namco did the right thing and lived up to those requests.

          Also the extra characters are for the most part clones with additions and tweaks/models, that won’t dent their budget too much. They made a good chunk of money I’m sure when they included “Snoop Lion” content in and out of the game to promote his new album etc.

    The stages and the character’s are not part of the patch because I have all those unlocked in my game now, but update still report’s as being 1.01 =/….

    Lots added with this patch. Problems removed, no sign of anything game breaking remains. Loving the improvements to the online mode. Good job Namco!

    I found a glitch with Sebastian. When I did a db 4 to b2 then Tag assault. Your partner does not come in and the opponent is in the air like it usually would be when you use a tag assault. It’s not a major glitch but it’s there. Also if you do (This is wall only) QCF 1,2 the b2 and tag assault it does the same thing as before.

    i just updated but in my ps3  there isn’t any character dlc or any stage!!!WTF??? i’m so angryyy!!! i got playstation 3 i’m from italy

Io ho acceso poco fa e quando è partito il gioco mi ha fatto aggiornare alla 1.2 normalmente : Poi è spuntato “personaggio sbloccato”, “stage sbloccato” e altre cose, e mi ha sbloccato Slim Bob, Miharu e Sebastian (più i vari stage e nuove funzioni in galleria, online e personalizza). Assicurati che sei connessa e fai partire il gioco, dovresti avere tutto :

    Did they fix the freezing issue on the 360 version? Every once in a while during a match. The game would freeze for like 1 to 2 seconds. Hopefully. As for the tune packs. I got them on 360 and the update occurred on the 360 as well. Everything seems to be running smoothly for now.

    I like the new Tekken Theater.  Can watch endings from the first 3 Tekkens and TTT now (after you unlock them).

    Also noticed head customize items are organized now.  Hat items are grouped together before the different types of hair types you can buy.  Load times improved in customize mode too.

    Poland stage is trippy as hell.

    Unless they can find a way to squeeze more cash out of the players, this is going to be a flop in the money side of things. Like it or not, a new fighting game costs $70-$80. $60 for the disc and $10 or more for the rest of the cast. MK9, BBCS, KOF13, SSF4AE, MvC3. Weather the content is downloaded or disc locked it is the same thing…..$60 no longer buys a complete game.

    Ok could be wrong but I need some help verifying a possible bug I found with Slim Bob on the PS3 version. Several times that I have played him since yesterday the game has froze when the second hit of his circle whopper or croque-monsieur was blocked. I don’t know if it is character specific yet since each time it has happened it was against a Combot. A few times I attributed it to online issues since I was in the search sessions screens. But last night and today it has been happening in training mode also. Any info would be helpful.
