Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R Heading to PlayStation Vita Next Year

Great news dropped today for Guilty Gear fans who want to be able to play the game on the go. The latest issue of Famitsu is reporting that Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R will be hitting Sony’s PlayStation Vita sometime next year. You can check out the scan from the magazine below. Also, according to Japanator’s Eliot Gay, the game will feature full voice acting.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R is currently set to release in Japanese arcades later this month. For those still looking forward to the console experience, the port of Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus coming to PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in October will eventually be updated to the R specifications.

Specific details regarding the Vita version’s release have yet to be disclosed, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Accent Core Plus R WILL be in Consoles…but as DLC for Accent Core Plus

(Sorry for the grammar, Mexifag here)

I’m aware of that, but nonetheless I am still waiting :P

    FINALLY!

A really good game for PS Vita

    • Kageromaru

Unfortunately, that ‘really good game’ is just another port of a console game.  Geez, the PSV is looking to repeat the same mistakes as its predecessor.  It needs more original games tailored to its unique control schemes…emphasis on ‘more games’.

Exclusives take WAY too long to develop and if short-sighted fools had their way, we’d be waiting for only 4 or so titles for the system every year. You need ports in the meantime to fill the gap. Just because you only want to play fighters at home doesn’t men everyone else does. Personally, I’m just in it for the higher processing power and better graphics. I don’t like using the touchscreen that much. And this system NEEDS more ports (Okami, Vf5fs, DMC Collection, KOF XIII, Scott Pilgrim vs Za Warudo!, TTT2, SF Anniversary), and to be included in new multi-console releases rather than just getting lame spinoff games (that always took place way back in an old war rather than the franchise’s current time period) like was done to the psp with fps and tps.

You can’t exist on exclusives alone unless you want to starve the system owners even MORE than was already done. If this system was trying to float on JUST exclusives, over 50% of Vita owners would have traded their Vita back in. IMO, it looks almost like everybody except UBI is afraid to support this system aside from the one or 2 games they promised before the system came out. That needs to change, too. Only way to do it: port games people want. If it wasn’t for Umvc3, a lot of fighting game fans would not have bought a Vita on launch.

Hmmm…we seem to be arguing about two extremes.  I did not say that a PSV port of GG was a bad thing.  What IS bad is that the PSV, in my eyes, is following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the PSP.  As an owner of the PSP, I was disappointed in its line-up of mostly ports of console games; some stripped-down from recent releases, others improved from older releases.

The PSV, much like the PSP, is shaping up to be just another interesting ‘gadget’ whose selling points revolve around its capabilities (and hack-ability), rather than its games.  Having ports is one thing.  Having JUST ports is another thing entirely.  Until that game lineup is bolstered, whether it is by exclusives, ports or PS3/PSV cross-play, the PSV will remain under my radar.

Already, Vita is the best handheld in history for fighting game fans.

    • Linear

you say best handheld in history for fighting game fans and then mention online? lmao. best handheld in history must also mean shit then

      • JasinWalraven

I can only speak for UMvC3, but the online play with the Vita is awesome, often better than Xbox360 or  PS3 ( I own UMvC3 on all three systems)

    • samirerre

sorrry neogeo pucket aready has this title

  • VisualData

    Digital form only?

  • ragnarok954

And at the end… the Vita is still useless. I’ll wait for the home console version. Rather play a fighting game on that.

    3DS port please…

Kusoge game for a Kusoge system

    • Ronald Torres

“Kusoge game” is as redundant as “ATM machine”. At least use the term right if you’re gonna mindlessly bash on an awesome game.

I was under the impression that Guilty Gear is held in the highest regard in Japanese FGC.  But hey..who am I talking to.The leader of the FGC.

    SWEEEEEEEET!

Love this. And I hope that developers port more PS3/PSN games over to Vita. It’s really a great being able to play these games on the go. :)

  • Jotamide

Neat. More GG is always welcome.
