“Fatal Juri Action,” a Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012 Combo Video by wauhti

Wauhti recently uploaded this new Super Street Fighter IV exhibition titled Fatal Juri Action. The combo video includes some unique, character specific setups, including some impressive and flashy ones against Blanka and Sagat.

We were also sent us the following notes on the combos.

Beginning with 10 kara taunts with close HK

Sagat and Blanka combos are character specified ones like after double c.hp into MK Fuhajin you do raw HK Senpusha on Blanka or against Sagat active U1 and combo without FA crumble.

It’s easy to get meaty s.lp against Dan after FADC so you can combo sweep after s.lp

You need hit ex fuhajin that hits 2 times with delay, if you want to combo U2.

    I don’t play SF4 but Juri is probably my favorite character out of the cast.  Is she viable in tournament play?  I never see anyone playing her.  This was an awesome combo vid though.

      Everyone is viable in tournament play. I think the only reason why people don’t play her often is because she’s “complex” and it’s far easier to play someone straightforward. The same kind of reason why people in Marvel will play Spencer but not Jill.

      I’ve been wanting to mess with Juri ever since seeing Juicebox and his brand new dance. That video clip will always make me laugh.

        Except jill is nothing like spencer. She does average damage low health and no air mobility. Her supers are pretty crappy as well.

          You interpreted that backwards. Spencer is the easy, simple with high damage character. People flock to him for this, whereas they don’t go near Jill because she’s low damage and very complicated.

          In SFIV, Juri fits that bill. Why play someone complicated when you can just pick Sagat instead?

            Thats still not necessarily true. Jill is entirely different playstyle than spencer. Better example would have been wesker and jill, or ironman and magneto. They both have similar playsyles, but one requires more execution to get damage

        People dont play her because she’s bad. There’s a reason you never see her top any tournaments even when great players like Weirdoneo play her flawlessly.

          This is a crap statement. The Character is only 2 years old, where characters like Ryu and Geif have been around for 20 years and the knowledge base is quite large on those other characters. the character just needs time to mature and as long as she appears in further games that will happen

        thats why I only play juri in ssf4 and only Hugo in 3rd strike

        by practicing only the character i like I can find solutions against most players 
        the best player in my country plays Juri and he wins most of the tournaments.

        As a Juri player, I don’t think she’s complex at all.  She does have character specific stuff, but just about all of her combos are easy links.  Once you get used to holding down buttons and using all your fingers, she’s pretty straightforward.

        People don’t play/win tournaments with her because she has a hard time against a lot of the top characters.  There was a post in the Juri forums awhile back listing Juri matchups vs. Evo’s top 8/16 (where there was pretty good character diversity) and the majority of them where considered to be not in her favor.
