Wednesday Night Fights and The Runback Return in September with Adjusted Lineups, SoCal Regionals Moves to January 18th – 20th, 2013

Alex Valle of Level|Up Series recently updated the group’s official site with some news regarding their weekly tournament series and SoCal Regionals.

First off, Wednesday Night Fights and The Runback will be moving out of their summer editions and into season four with new lineups. The former will now host tournaments for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012, while the latter is set to include Persona 4 Arena, King of Fighters XIII, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Both are looking incredibly solid moving into the new season, so set your calendars for September 5th and 6th. Be sure to support your favorite games as well as Super Arcade in Walnut, California with your attendance.

Due to Tekken Tag Tournament 2′s release on September 11th, Persona 4 Arena will still be featured at the first Wednesday Night Fights event of the season before shifting to The Runback. They’ll also be announcing an update to their ranking system, so be on the look out for that.

Also, with the variety of events on their plate, Level|Up Series has decided to push back this year’s SoCal Regionals a bit to make sure the event can be given their full attention. It will now be held early next year, from January 18th to 20th, at the University of California campus in Irvine. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available.

So, what do you think of the new lineups? Let us know in the comments section below and get ready for another great season of SoCal action!

The games I am playing and love to watch are Umvc3 and SSF4. I do respect their choice but I think sometimes I will watch WNF and TRB without even watch the games I like. They want some games to remain alive and I respect that. But they need to tell everyone what is gonna be on stream so I won’t bother myself with the games I don’t like or play.
SOCAL is gonna be bigger and I really want it to become an EVO road event, it deserves it. Thx Alex Valle and his crew for the huge work they keep doing.

If you remember, WNF was a road to EVO 2012 event until umm.. Marn and his friend happened.

      • JasinWalraven

        Forget EVO.
Time to compete with EVO instead of trying beg for crumbs.

This is an important post. EVO has too much power in the community, it would be better for everyone (apart from the people who run EVO) if we had at least one other year defining event

Florence replied I’m in shock that a mother can make $4118 in one month on the network. did you read this(Click on menu Home)

I’m glad P4A is becoming an official part of the lineup.

  • MrListerTheSisterFister

lol no SFxT. Guess they’ve given up on the game too

Because of my work schedule and how vacation works (we bid on vacation and it’s based on seniority), I never even thought I’d be able to go to a tournament or event like SCR. With this change it now falls on the second weekend of my vacation in January. If I don’t go, I will regret it.

Time to grab the old SF2 Turbo guide and get it signed by Valle.

no sg… I understand it but it still makes me sad. I am glad to see some ae, persona, kof, and I may even drop by for some marvel

2 3D games and on the same day WTF thats gonna be a sad stream the stream monsters gonna go double times crazy this season and i thought they was bad last season just from VF5 being streamed

  • RandomJohn

I wouldn’t mind watching some Tekken Tag.  It’s something new at least.

  • Los Illuminados

heh…HOLD IT! i respect their choices on fighting games lineups for the shows but…OBJECTION! PRESS! in my opinion UMvC3 should be move to WNF. So WNF fighting game lineup should be UMvC3, TTT2, VF5:FS, SFxT and SSFIV:AE2k12.
TRB will have KOF XIII, P4U/A, SkullGirls, should add
BlazBlue/BB the latest version of it, Guilty Gear/GG the latest version of it, and/or other anime fighting game. this should make alot of people happy all round the FGC but that will not happen.
o well. anyways thanks Tio Valle for all the work u have done and keep it up. Arigato Alex Valle of Level|Up Series and all of it’s staff.

Lol dude there’s no way they’d be able to run 5 games in one night, that’s just unrealistic. They’re already pushin it with 3 as it is. Also, you do realize that TRB was created for marvel right. AE and marvel are the games that bring in the most viewers so they just decided to give them their own respective days. That way viewers would be happy and it just makes things easier for everyone at super arcade.
