BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Details and Screenshots from Famitsu; Overdrive to Serve as Counter to Break Burst System

Continuing from the BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma details mentioned last night, Famitsu released a variety of screenshots through their website that showcase the new characters, new stages, and Noel’s redesign. They also touch briefly on the new Overdrive mechanic, saying that it’s there to serve as a counter to the more defensive Break Burst system by beefing your character up for a short period of time, in addition to granting them access to more powerful attacks.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma is currently undergoing location testing in preparation for a Winter 2012 arcade release, with a Playstation 3 port to be announced.

    Ragna technically shouldn’t be able to steal life from his opponents anymore since he sacrificed the azure grimoir to return Noel to normal. I wonder if they’ve given him a new mechanic. From the looks of the screenshot, they didn’t.

    I was kinda hoping for Ragna to use a new drive based on the Idea engine that Nu-13 gave him when she died for him…a second time.

      yeah because overdrives speed up each character by 140% and give them 160% increased damage and regenerate their health and can cancel out of blockstun

    im noticing the energy meter at the bottom
    and it has 4stocks like jins in the current games
    dose that  mean everyone has ex versions of there specials now?

      In the current reports: instead of the guard primer system, there is a new system that can break the opponent’s block at cost of 25% meter unless they’re barrier blocking. I forget the exact name and I personally don’t know if these moves are EX versions of moves or brand new animations, but that’s what it is for now.
