“If you guys got destroyed in Texas, don’t worry, you should have no trouble winning in Cali’s qualifiers.”

Ha, funny to whoever said that.

    MVC3 at Togeki

USA still doesn’t make it past the first round

    • rtdzign

I’m pretty sure that the people at Tougeki will tell a few USA and Kuwait players that they made a mistake and have them play an elimination round to make room for more Japanese players.

They actually have to find a player that wants to go?

  • Jano Torres

Justin Wong will take MvC3 at SBO unless he fights Mihe…

    • Bavo Bruylandt

I’m afraid that having only a handful of US players between a mass of asians will likely not be in favor of US.

      • eunsun

I disagree. Compare this to Asian players coming and playing Street Fighter at EVO. What’s bigger: the advantage Japan has over the U.S. in Street Fighter, or the advantage U.S. has over Japan in Marvel vs. Capcom?

        • Bavo Bruylandt

the disadvantage of competing in a complete other culture

          • e411642

Did you even watch EVO? The Japanese players they sent here were among the “best”, and none of them even made Top 16 except for Chou. I’m not saying America is gonna take Marvel for free, but with the caliber of players they’re sending (especially Justin Wong and Mihe), they got a pretty damn good chance.

“I’m afraid that having only a handful of US players between a mass of asians will likely not be in favor of US.”

This argument works both ways. What about the mass of Americans that a handful of Japenese players have to go through to win EVO?

          • Bavo Bruylandt

            countering your own argument.

Infrit came 3rd and 5th at the same time?

  • ATL_Rhythmik

Damn, Fanatiq popped of so bad then lost to Infrit?

  • RandomJohn

If you look up “fraud” in a dictionary, it will tell you to google the name “fanatiq.”    This guy was talking so much sht before Infrit’s match during the first qualifier on how easy his bracket was in (at Evo) and that he has no right to be popping off after beating Knives at Evo.  Then he bashes on Infirt’s Spencer and Sentinel how they’re crappy as hell and the only character he’s “solid” with is Nova.  Then, Infirt and Fraudatiq plays each other.  The Fraud loses, goes to Mike Ross for a post-match interview and all he could say was “oh, I’m just have to train better and more.”  Mike Ross just laughs (even though I think everyone knows what he’s saying in his head) while the Fraud walks off.   This is a perfect example of “actions speaks louder than words.”  All the Fraud had were words.  His actions clearly did not back up what he was talking about.  Funny thing is Infrit unplugs his stick and just walks off after beating Fanatiq.  Didn’t say anything to him, didn’t do a post-match interview, nothing.

    • e411642

You obviously weren’t there for the whole thing. The reason Fanatiq lost to Infrit was so Fanatiq could bait him in a high stakes money match. Also, on the prematch interview, Fanatiq was saying how Infrit was subtly talking shit. You never see Infrit talking shit because he doesn’t wanna look bad in front of a camera. He was sandbagging the whole tournament. If you thought he lost to Justin because of Wong factor, you’re retarded. He threw the match so he could fight Infrit. And he was being fucking sarcastic on the post match interview.

Don’t spout your bullshit unless you know both sides of the story. And no, I’m no fanboy. I just wanna see a fucking money match after this much popoff coming from both players.

      • jesus marin

He sandbagged at evo too, thats why he lost to frutsy.
Hell he even sandbagged at the texas qualifier twice, just to bait Infrit into a money match.
People are getting retarded these days.

        • spectaa

Nobody really cares about Fanatiq THAT much really. Whatever he does after getting that L is of no interest. If he is sandbagging, yellow card, good day.

      • Zonder88

You still sound pretty mad, brah.

      • SpiderDan

So wait… Fanatiq threw the match to Justin (…) so he could fight Infrit, then threw the match to Infrit to… bait him into a money match?

What you are saying is that Fanatiq’s only reason for entering this tournament (given that he supposedly eliminated himself from the tourney *on purpose*) was to bait Infrit into a money match.  That is… not credible.

        • Bavo Bruylandt

not credible no, but damn funny :)

      • spectaa

And no, I’m no fanboy” At least you managed to convince yourself.
