Street Fighter x Tekken – Cammy EX Dash Mini Combo Video by Desk

Desk’s latest Street Fighter x Tekken combo video focuses on dashing out of EX charge specials, which allows characters to dash in quicker and, in Cammy’s case, allows her to dash in and continue combos after a fierce attack. Like with most of Desk’s videos, the technique is rather difficult to pull off, but it provides an interesting look at an unexplored part of the game’s engine.

I wonder if the incoming jab nerf is going to affect this kind of combo

    • http://twitter.com/emezie Emezie Okorafor

Jab nerfs don’t have anything to do with frame advantage on hit.

They aren’t nerfing her as far as I know. Honestly, SSF4 Cammy could probably do this if that game were designed like this — Cammy isn’t really a character who needs any nerfs. With the time increase, Jab pressure won’t be as good anyway.

    • TheFrikking

Excuse me for my ignorance, but the nerf on jab will be for every character, not only for Rolento ??

      • http://twitter.com/emezie Emezie Okorafor

So far, it’s only for specific characters…thank goodness.

With all those normal hits, you could easily activate a speed gem or two. That would make the combo much easier due to the increased walk speed inbetween the jabs. I actually really liked the pandora into chun li combo. Its a nice variation from the usual pandora into super that people do because of the pandora time limit.

Now if I recall due to the insane frame advantage on the chun’s EX fireball the combo he was doing is an “infinite” as long as pandora keeps generating meter. While I tend to stay away from assist gems, the one that doubles pandora time combined with the pandora lvl 3 gem. Off any attack that keeps your opponent standing and lets you activate pandora you could do some serious damage.  A gimmick? maybe. But I think I will play around with it today.

I love watching a video that is showcasing one thing and getting an idea for something completely different.

      >I love watching a video that is showcasing one thing and getting an idea for something completely different.

To your credit, it takes a creative mind to have that happen to you in the first place. So props to you :o I get the same way sometimes, whenever my friend and I watch tech videos together.

Great stuff again from Desk! Glad to see him stick with SFxT. That guy just keeps experimenting and finding new stuff it’s crazy!

Those combos do weak damage but the mere fact that she can combo from EX CADC is huge. Even if you fail your link you are at +frames and can get a mixup or frame trap on them.

And I’m loving those jump cancel into pandora. Though I was hoping Chun Li would go for a Super eventually or something. I definitely want to experiment with that idea more.

    Thanks for the inspiration. :D

    • Sgigantor

Honestly im tired of seeing everyone say the games dead when its not. Stop it, you aren’t fooling anyone but yourself.

Yeah! I still love this game! SFXT FTW!

    • JasinWalraven

Well, i tested you theory, fired up SFxT on xbox live played 20 online matches and the longest I waited for a match was 25 seconds, so u are full of crap :)

  • TheFrikking

Another madness of video for Desk, we appreciate it.

I may need to incorporate more EX CADC into my game.  Might find some cool stuff with it.  Good stuff Desk. :-)

This game is honestly not as bad as everyone makes it out to be this new patch should at least make it a decent game. It’s really annoying people harping on about how boring this game is but then just go stright back into SF4 with is a turtle/footsie fest. Far more boring imo

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/UDFZHYIXWQNG4NN54GFRM2MOCE JayManSX

In my opinion, the games is pretty bad right now.  BUT, this game has a TON, and I mean, a TON of potential.  Theres a lot of cool stuff in it… a lot of characers have really Cool EX CADC stuff, but its just that none of it is worth doing in a real match, because you can do the same damage doing extremely simple stuff…  And I havent seen any patches on damage or damage scaling, so i doubt the cool stuff will every really get to be used much except in Combo Videos :(

    • Hol_Up

Nah, the game sucks. Too many bugs at launch and the damage scaling is the worst I’ve even seen.

      • http://twitter.com/VulcanHades Luisito

SF4, Marvel and MK9 had easily 10 times more bugs than SFxT.

This game only had a few infinites and glitches but almost all of them are already out. The game is only 6 months old and it’s virtually bug free.

There are reasons to not like this game, but to use bugs as an argument is just being ignorant and stupid.

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/OYW7MRXCYLDRRDDDVQ4H4QGC5U Nicholas Rowe

No, the damage scaling is retarded. It encourages short simple combos in a game where you can do so much more. Theres plenty of games around where actual though has been put into how scaling works but it seems capcom couldnt be bothered so they just copypasted SF4′s system

          • http://twitter.com/VulcanHades Luisito

You can already do 450-500 damage with 1 bar fucktard. If the damage scaling was any different you would be able to do 900-1000 damage resets. There’s a reason why scrubs like you are not gameplay designers. Because you’re too god damn stupid to understand why damage scaling is important in fighting games. Especially at high levels when people actually know how to optimize damage and use resets.

Also, combos can have different utility. You either go for maximum damage, for a combo that takes most second of the clock, an ender that encourages quickstand or roll recovery or a combo that gives you position advantage. Sometimes doing less damage is actually better if it puts your opponent in the corner or sends them far away for example. So you still have a ton of liberty in your combo choices. Long stupid combos are good if you want to win by time out or buy some time to allow your partner to recover grey health. And short optimized combos are good because of DPS (damage per second) which is what you should opt for  if you’re trying to comeback from behind.

The game is virtually bug free, yes. I’m willing to bet you couldn’t even name me 3 bugs that are still in the game right now.

Keep talking out of your ass son. I’ll happily put you on blast and expose you as the ignorant and undereducated scrub you are.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/OYW7MRXCYLDRRDDDVQ4H4QGC5U Nicholas Rowe

did i say there shouldnt be any scaling at all in the game? also leave out the hard man talk next time you sound like an idiot

          • JasinWalraven

Explain what you mean by “retarded”?

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/C6GJLKLSF2OBAEYSQD2KCVZTWI mike

I don’t remember being able to hit a guy once then float away in any of the games you mentioned, or a simple projectile crashing my console. And the bugs didn’t really steer ppl away anyways, it was the assist gems.

    • JasinWalraven

Not many people being steered away. I can find a match anytime and it’s against all sorts of different people, unlike some other game where I played the same guy 7 times in an hour (VF5)
