Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Played on a Playstation Vita

recently posted a video of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom being played on a Playstation Vita. He utilizes the PS Mobile Suite PC Remote Vita App to connect to the Dolphin Wii emulator running on his PC. It runs decently, though it hangs up at times. Perhaps with a bit of tweaking by the hacking community it might end up running smoothly.

this is the only way to get games on the vita

    • Rahavic

I’d rather a full platform port of this game over games from 10+ years ago with “HD” graphics on them for $15-20. For real.

  • http://twitter.com/HooliganCombo James Reilly

They really need to port this game to ps3 and 360, but the developers made it specifically for wii based on how it was designed -_- had more fun with that game then mvc3

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kevi-Johnson-el/100001847029873 Kevi Johnson-el

porting it would be a waste of time at this point and tvc is slow and boring imo

      • TheAquacharger

I’m with James. TvC was more fun then MvC3.

        • Stank_JP

Me three! I like mvc but I feel like tvc is the better game.

    • Rahavic

I hope they do it and stop with the old crusty games that come back and get played for a month.

    • Kageromaru

IDK, although I’ve found TvC interesting and own a copy of the game, it was hard to get people to play it with me.  Even when going to Family Fun Center where they have the game, I don’t see many people playing it, especially when MvC2 is just two machines down.

Most people are afraid of change and because of this, TvC may not be worth the port.

Are we talking TvC:CGOH and not UAS? Completely two different things

        • Kageromaru

Interesting question.  I’m not sure what differences are between CGOH and UAS, besides some character substitutions, bonus game substitutions and BGM, but I’ll answer, anyway.

Family Fun Center in Los Angeles has CGOH.  I have UAS.  I was first exposed to TvC when a co-worker brought an import copy of CGOH to  the office.   The game wasn’t really that well-received by other co-workers, but I believe that was because no one had access to Wii Fightsticks back then (that and they were mostly a Smash crowd).

If you don’t play the characters that are also in MvC3, you won’t realize how bad this game is in comparison.

    • kofi agyeman

      sad but sorta true
still without this, we wouldn’t have an MVC3… or so some say

    • http://twitter.com/HooliganCombo James Reilly

of course not I play Batsu + Roll Xd

your giving mvc3 more credit then it deserves or tvc not enough credit whichever since i consider tvc far from “bad” to be fair.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Almeson-Hoku-James/100000479628267 Almeson Hoku James

Yo how many ryu players are out there that plays TvC? Because TvC Ryu was pretty damn beast.

  • Anthony Lee

Character recognition doesn’t make a good game.  MVC3 to MVC2 and 1 is a complete embarrassment and disgrace.  TvC was a unique, balanced and under-appreciated game that didn’t rely on easier combos, bulky characters, and graphics for meatheads to grovel and drool over, in order to win hearts.  MvC3 is an utterly flawed mess and people who love it should question their sexualities.

    • e411642

Lolno. UMvC3 is by far the most balanced game out of the three. MvC2 only had like 8 tournament viable characters. In Ultimate, almost the whole cast is viable for tournament play, if used a certain way. Plus, the game is starting to be more like Marvel 2 with the discovery of TAC infinites. You’re wearing nostalgia goggles. Maybe TvC was under-appreciated because it wasn’t that good in the first place? And what the fuck do you mean TvC didn’t rely on easy combos? Comboing in that game was easy as shit. And baroque didn’t make it any harder, either.

      • Anthony Lee

The game had DAMAGE SCALING, unlike MvC3, so simplicity didn’t sacrifice complexity.  You had to break a combo in order to continue the fight.  Baroque didn’t make much of a difference either for the same reason, and it was VERY risky as it depleted your energy bar.

Again, the fags who loved MvC3 get aroused to what they play, so continue to enjoy the graphics of your MvC3 character models.  Get laid at the thought of your opposite sex lovers, and not the same sex character models you grovel at in MvC3.

I think umvc3 is fun and is my most played game but I know it sucks its better than tvc though that game fit well on the wii

      You sayin’ I like chicks?

      • Anthony Lee

If you’re a girl, then yes.  If you’re a guy, then no.

         SHIT.
        Everybody hit the deck!

    • Linear

oh my god you are trying so hard to sound OG its funny

      • Anthony Lee

         LOL,

OG as in “Original Gangsta”?  I don’t see anywhere that i’m trying to replicate that, at all.

You and the idiot(s) who liked what you just said are ridiculous.

    • Doctor Claw

minus that whole “sexualities” thing and the fact that TvC unfortunately simplified the combo system from MvC2 even further, making characters like Chun-Li even more of a pain to actually use…I agree with this post.  I did like TvC better than MvC3. MvC3 should have been UMvC3 in the first place, and the backfiring troll jobs Capcom pulled didn’t help. Some characters that made the cut in MvC3 that were also in TvC were vastly improved (I really didn’t like certain aspects of Morrigan’s game in that game), but the Capcom cast of that game >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MvC3′s.

A game like TvC didn’t deserve to be orphaned on the Wii, which had little-to-no fighting games to offer otherwise, and with a crappy online system. It would have fared much better on the PS3 or 360.

      • Anthony Lee

The combo system is definitely “Easier” than MvC2 and 1.  I was referring to the MORE FLAWED combo system in MVC3, such as creating a 1 BUTTON LAUNCHER.  In TvC, you have to use Diagonal to launch AND there was damage scaling.  TvC was an overall, much better game.

People who DEFEND MvC3 either didn’t play TvC, or require arousal by graphics to keep entertained in gameplay, thus having to question their sexualities.

Odd, but I’m making a point.

        • Doctor Claw

I haven’t played (U)MvC3 in so long I had forgotten completely about the launcher button crap. Definitely another step backwards, control wise.

    • kofi agyeman

wasn’t the marvel side of mvc2 stacked with mutants, most of whom were there because like 90% of the sprites were ripped from previous games? weren’t doom and thanos initially secret/boss characters that weren’t fully fleshed out? didn’t damn near every character in TVC have double jumps and air dashing? team tag combos were inescapable at least now you have a 33% chance. baroque meant a mini x-factor combo so long as you had red health and with megacrash ie burst come crash baiting. tac side or down you take a gamble and the meter game isn’t a complete shithouse racket.

never mind most of those characters many people didn’t even recognize. and the layout was the same; wait no it was a straight up 4 button game.

      • bananaland17

You need to watch/play more TvC. You can’t get out of TAC combos, but the damage scales harder on them so there was almost never a point AND in order to do one you have to use a FULL bar which is often times not worth it because you need to save bars for Mega Crash/supers. While I somewhat agree with Baroque being a mini XFC, that is the EXACT difference, that it is ONLY a mini one. There are also a number of other differences.

-While XFC can only be used once in a match, there is NO risk for using it unless you burn it before your opponent does, and such things. But by risk I mean you don’t LOSE any recoverable red life, and if anything, you obviously GAIN life(hurr). -XFC doesn’t just last through the duration of the combo, it lasts HOWEVER the set time for how many characters you have. Not only does it make you do more damage as well though, but you MOVE faster, Baroque does nothing of the sort.

-Baroque, while can be considered somewhat of a comeback factor, is more or less a reward for being good at the game. If you pull off a big combo, then go into Baroque and FINISH the combo as you intend and do big damage/kill the opponent, then you did something good by NOT dropping the combo. X Factor does nothing of the sort as all it does is provide MORE incentive to go in again. “Oh I dropped my combo? DOESN’T MATTER STILL IN XFC I CAN GO IN AGAIN” etc etc.

As far as the characters not being recognizable, well it’s just something you’d have to deal with. While I’d agree that characters being recognizable helps a game sell more and be more familiar with fans, it doesn’t reflect on how good a game is overall or the way you can build an understanding/liking of characters, there just has to be the fanbase/dedication/drive for it, and it isnt the games fault that people were not willing to give it a chance.

If anything the ONE thing that truly “ruined” TvC/made even me(a TvC fan) want to turn my head to it, it was the giants in the game.

        • Anthony Lee

Even Giants such as PTX were defeat-able.  They’re easy to block against and spam Strong attack to escape any throw from them if they’re expected.  I obliterated a high rank PTX with Ryu, because their main flaw is easily becoming “Dizzy”, which you can then unleash a Lvl 3. super and hurt them bad.  The Giant characters are kind of patternized. I do Wish I had recorded those matches for others’ to see.

Unrecognizable characters? How many people even knew who Nova or Spencer were before UMvC3?

        • http://twitter.com/GrapeATL Grape 포도 약탈품

If you actually read marvel comics then you probably knew who Nova was. None of that “WELL I WATCHED THE 90′S CARTOONS I KNOW ALL THE CHARACTERS LOL” garbage.
Spencer on the other hand. <_<

mvc3 is better than tvc but worse than marvel 2

    Cool feature.

  • David Curry

this is nice and all but sony’s gonna lock ps suite down once the store officially goes up. its just gonna be psp minis part 2, playable on vita and sony android stuff

  • http://twitter.com/IzuSanada San K`

I fucking thought this was a Vita Port for a second.  Hopes down. :c

  • captaincommerce

    i miss this game :(

  • GameLink7 (GL)

Non-recognizable characters is something that people shouldn’t criticize on. Before Street Fighter 2 did we know who Blanka or Guile was? It’s a poor excuse for not playing this well done game. This also hepls bring more obscure characters up to the spotlight. (Seriously, how many of you actually went to Google some of the characters after playing this game?)

Seriously needs PS3/PSV/360 port, seriously. I don’t care if you leave the graphics the way they are, as long as the netcode is better than the Wii version I’m good.

    ~GL

    • HotDunk

Shit was very recognizable in Japan. Some of the more lolwut choices in TvC are pretty endearing.

    • Louis Lam

“Before Street Fighter 2 did we know who Blanka or Guile was?”No, because they didn’t exist.
