Street Fighter x Tekken’s DLC Characters Heading to PC in September

Upon hearing the announcement from EVO 2012 that Street Fighter x Tekken’s downloadable content characters would be released early, a member of the Capcom-Unity forums posted a question concerning their release on PC. Earlier this morning, Christian Svensson joined the thread to offer a quick reply to their question.

To be more specific, I asked Derek about this here’s what he sent me:

“They’ll be in the second batch of DLC.  The only thing that prevented them from being in the batch currently in submission was CJ waffling about the date until recently. So now, we’re hoping to submit middle of next month, with release in early September.”

So probably something like 5-6 weeks separating the two, unfortunately.

While a delay of five to six weeks is less than optimal, it’s a concrete date that PC players can look forward to. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

      I own the game on PC. I’m not angry. It’s not about 2nd-class treatment, it’s about things being different on the PC. If I were to be angry about anything, it’s that there’s no UMVC3 on the PC, but I’m not angry about that, either. I’m just happy to know they’re coming to PC at all. Remember when Capcom said the PC wouldn’t see Super SFIV? That was kind of a blow.

      etc. etc.

      You’re basically saying that no matter what tripe PC gamers are given they should be happy with what they get just for the fact that it’s getting a PC release. (not saying SFxT is tripe, but the above is what you’re implying)
      You can’t just be happy with anything released on the PC just because it is released on PC. That’s ridiculous.

        I agree, however my concern is much more that by dramatically staggering DLC/Patches or content support for the PC platform they hurt sales and future prospects much more.

        PC gamers are only one alt-tab away from voicing their praise or concerns on any number of large gaming or social media sites and as such I believe are also typically better informed as a side effect. By having such big gaps between console/PC releases a “PC Gamer” may have already had his opinion changed and his money gone elsewhere.
         I personally was going to be a day1 release buyer of SFxT for PC however I got to see the console release then when the PC release came out I downloaded a hacked version 5 days before the actual release which left me with the luxury of seeing PC release specific feedback.
         Don’t get me wrong I love the game but the waiting with content and patches has let me hold back on buying the game to the point where I am eagerly looking forward to buying it in the steam summer sale…

        The TLDR of it is: Patching and Content support of a product on PC when having a large difference in release dates will effect consumers purchases and the return of investment a company puts into a PC release.

    Good to know. :-)   Might not be able to grab them on PC on day one (just bad timing and I’ll already have them on 360), but at least it won’t be too horrible of a wait afterwards.

            Not all, but it’s definitely the more vocal majority. It’s like if they got a paper-cut, they’d rather cut off the finger instead of bandaging it just because it makes the paper-cut go away faster.

            Most kids in the FGC think they’re some kind of activist when they’re just whining (akin to DSP or, even though he’s not part of the community, Angry Joe), but given the chance, they’d fuck with their mouth and fight with their feet. They don’t look at the long-term effect on their actions, they look at what’s right in front of them at THAT specific moment in time and assume that the most forceful method is the best one.

            I’m sure these are the exact same people I body for doing stupid jump-ins or pressing too many buttons. Too much action, not enough thought.

    September is fine for me, as always with PC platform you always fear maybe you won’t get the latest version, I hope the Vita version keep up to date too. All in all, I prefer the PC version even though I have the game for xbox, basically the mods for sfxt are too good (

Why cuz this crap is out already on XBOX / PS3 I’ll just play it there..Sept is Tekken Tag Tournament 2 & Borderlands 2 to be real i’m not going to really care about this old game when new ones drop…Sorry Capcom sorry fans…That’s just how i feel do as you wish

    I have no intention of buying the DLC when it comes out on the PC if i cant play the game online.
    The game is still unplayable online i get telports even whit people that have full bars.

      your stupid, ps3 is not is complex, PC is you dont have to upgrade on every game release or even every year, it up to the owner of the PC. a 6yrs old PC can still play current games in low setting (just like the quality on a PS3. lastly, pc game versions are cheaper than the console versions
