I never took this game beyond casual level but now I’ll take more time to it. Since I love psychotic characters, so does Zappa is a good character for beginners?

I’d like to respond to some of the comments here regarding “oversaturation.”

Firstly, Guilty Gear, P4U, and Blazblue are worlds apart, having
completely different characters and flow (Guilty Gear being revolving
heavily around oki while BB has none, for example) and sharing only a
few similar system mechanics.  People could argue that those system
mechanics are too similar amongst ArcSys games, but that would be a
really retarded argument equivalent to saying 3S and CvS2 play the same
since they both have parry.

Secondly (and more importantly), regarding oversaturation and the
fighting game scene at large: oversaturation can definitely be a problem
with smaller scenes, as everyone is going to gravitate towards the
games they personally want to play, possibly fracturing already small
groups (I can personally attest to this, as it’s exactly how my scene is
right now). 

However, there is currently a far more threatening problem with the
fighting game genre: for the first time since SF2, quality is not the
main factor when deciding which fighting games to play.  In the post-SF4
era we live in, quality has taken a backseat to other motives to play,
namely brand recognition, marketing budget, and tournament money
potential.  Casual players (and I don’t mean that in an offensive way)
are going to play what’s well-known/popular, and for them that means
Capcom fighters with a bunch of flashy trailers to ensure they’ve heard
about it.  More casual players means better tournament attendance for
those games as the pool of players who decide to branch out and try
tournaments is larger.  For experienced/pro players, this is merely more
money added to the pot, and being experienced/pro players, they go
where the money is.

Games like SF4 and SFxT aren’t getting EVO spots because they’re the
highest quality fighting games out right now.  They’re getting EVO spots
because they’re going to have guaranteed high turnouts due to the
aforementioned reasons.  The fact that SFxT was granted a spot before
the game was even out says all that needs to be said on how tourney game
selection works these days.

Why are these things bad?  By proving quality is no longer a
priority,they have allowed Capcom to get lazy.  Capcom was my favorite
company growing up, and I own US releases of several fighters they made
up until SF4 (and a few JP releases) on Genesis, Saturn, PS2, and Xbox. 
They weren’t perfect, and admittedly made some dumb decisions every now
and then, but as soon as they did, the fighting game community would
IMMEDIATELY make them realize their mistake.  Look at the first Street
Fighter Alpha.  If you don’t know/never played it, it was released as
the new flagship Street Fighter game, the first of a brand new prequel
series… and it had chain combos.  Did the fighting game community give
a disappointed sigh and put up with it back then as the community at
large would now?  Nope.  Instead, they put their foot down, said “Fuck
this shit,” and played other, better games, and it flopped.  Did Capcom
tell everybody “Whatever, deal with it,” like they so routinely do in
present times?  Nope.  If you want to hit a company hard, teach them a
lesson, force them to change what you don’t like, you hit them where it
hurts: their wallets.  And that’s exactly what happened–when Capcom
released SFA2, chain combos were removed, and the game went on to be
arguably one of the best SF games ever made.

What really blows my mind about this is how quickly I’m accused of
trolling/fanboyism for pointing out these things.  To anyone who thinks
this, you misunderstand: I’m not anti-Capcom.  I’m PRO-Capcom–the
Capcom of old, that is.  I want to see them return to that standard of
quality they used to be so known for.  But until the fighting game
community puts their foot down, says “Fuck this shit,” and plays other,
better games, this will never happen.

This ended up being longer than I intended it to, so I’ll say this about
oversaturation in closing:  there can never be enough unique,
challenging, and fun high quality games like Guilty Gear, where the
skill ceiling is high and the winner is almost entirely determined by
player skill alone.  There are DEFINITELY too many boardroom
manufactured, instantaneously gratifying, and boring half-assed games
riding on the coattails of their superior predecessors.

I’m a little confused. Is this the XBLX/PSN release they mentioned in February or is it a different game entirely?

capcom should never be adressed as capcom ever again. its either crapcum, cashcunts, capfags or anyother term that descrpibes the company best. they ha their moments, but in genral they are fags. fuck capcom, all of em, us, jpn and eu. and if your supporthing capcom 2, then fuck you 2 nigga motherfacka. unless you wait for the cheapest 2nd hand version and buy no dlc, then much power to you. i support all you motherfuckers that make sure cashcum doesnt make more money than it needs to. and people bithing aboutn what about no sf5 then, no, the way they are now we dont need it. sf4 should have been 5 canonically, but fuck them ever more.

also bb character are ass. they represent japan in this emo, gay and loli age where maids and what not are fucking people in their brains and continuing to stop them from actually using that brain. gg characters while being weird as fuck (some of them at least) features a shitload of charactes that are not shit. unlike bb, in which all are shit. they even fucked up the ninja, how the fuck can you fuck up a ninja? i know americans can with their gay ass mk ninjas, but arks as well with that bang fag? guess we wont be seeing a hattorri hanzo any time soon. 

This better be the version we get on XBLA/PSN.

Okay, so I noticed a couple of things when checking the Japanese webpage that weren’t clear in this list. I checked since I was a little confused so I’m hoping I can clear a few things up for others that may be wondering the same things.

Johnny
– He now has two versions of Glitter is Gold; a 236 HS version and a 214 HS version. They both throw coins at different arcs.

Baiken
– Her counters are still input with 412 P/K/S/HS/D while blocking, not 214.

Jam Kuradoberi
– To use her powered up kicks, you now use D instead of K. So after using 22 K/S/HS/D, you do one of her moves that can be followed up with the powered up kicks, then do the input plus D. (Ex: 22 K > 236 K >236 D. That would charge the card, then do two Ryuujin kicks.)
– It is also possible to do those powered up kicks by themselves by using the D version (it still cost a card).

Zappa
– The move that now has a FRC immediately after landing is indeed his aerial sword spin named “Hai, Kaerimasu.”

Potemkin
– The input for Hammerfall hasn’t changed. The move is still input 4 charge 6 HS.

May
– The 41236 D move is a new Dolphin Summon but it doesn’t use tension like a forcebreak, so it’s just a new move.

Eddie
– The move was changed from 214D to 236D; so the new move is 236D.
– The new charge he gets from this move doubles his Eddie Gauge. It says “in order to restore the Eddie Gauge past its upper limit, this must be done.” His full light-blue gauge turns purple with the light-blue underneath.
