One of the many attractions at this year’s Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament was a special Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition panel led by Iron Galaxy Studios CEO Dave Lang. While initial details mentioned the panel would focus on the company’s revival of the classic game and implementation of GGPO, another special topic was mentioned a couple of times on stream that could see the game’s legacy continue on even further into the future.
Talk is that the panel also included a special announcement about an upcoming patch for the game, as well as a discussion segment where the community was asked what they would like to see included in the update. While details are still scarce on what this update will actually include, their focus on taking suggestions from players may hint at some of the possible changes coming to the online-enabled port. Of course, all of this is still speculation at this point, so we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
But for now, this raises a chance for some good discussion. What would you like to see updated if they do decide to tweak 3rd Strike’s balance? What changes should be implemented outside of balancing? Let us know in the comments section below.
UPDATE: Dave Lang of Iron Galaxy Studios posted a message to clarify the intentions behind the upcoming patch.
This is Dave from Iron Galaxy, under no circumstances are we rebalancing 3S, we went over this at the panel but apparently there was a miscommunication somehow. When the stream of the panel comes out check it out, see what we’re planning on fixing, and post what you think.
