Hot on the heels of Tougeki’s official date announcement, John Choi and Mike Watson have another special announcement regarding this year’s Super Battle Opera. Super Arcade in Walnut, California has received an official qualifier for Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012. The arcade regularly attracts some of the best players in Southern California to compete at its weekly Wednesday Night Fights event, and is a frequent stopping place for competition visiting from outside the region.
While the date and format are still pending, Super Arcade will host a qualifying tournament to decide on the three-man team from their region that will represent the United States in Japan. The players will also have approximately half of their airfare covered by Super Arcade. This is a fantastic opportunity, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more concrete details become available.
Super Arcade is also in the process of applying for an Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 qualifying spot, so keep your eyes open for information in the near future.
