Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike – Cho Tougeki Qualifier Footage

TheShend recently uploaded footage from the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike portion of the Cho Tougeki qualifiers that went down on April 28th. Much like the other events, the 3rd Strike qualifier was open to anyone who wanted to participate regardless of region, making for a variety of talent from all over Japan. While a few matches were played off-stream on other setups, there’s still a good amount of footage here for you 3rd Strike fans to enjoy. Full results from this event can be found in our official coverage hub.

14:34 of the first video.  That is all.

If parrying a corkscrew blow impresses you so much, you need to watch more third strike. Thats like….intermediate level. It actually would have been embarrassing to MISS that parry.

I’m gonna have to call you on that one, it’s obvious that you are trying your ass off to appear tough. How much 3S do you play and for how long have you played, for some reason I doubt greatly that YOU could parry a Corkscrew Blow simply and easily.

        • Bill Cosby

lol are you serious? Just watch high, even mid-high level play. This kind of shit happens ALL THE TIME. Hitting it out of a block for a red would be kind of impressive, but he hit the parry before that too. He had all day to hit that parry, and if tapping forward 5x to a consistent rythm is difficult for you might I suggest some other game

You still managed to dodge my question. I asked if YOU could do it, not how often high level players can do it. I’ve played 3S for about 8 years so like I said, you aren’t fooling anyone.

If you could parry it then say it, clearly you cannot, and while I can parry a Corkscrew Blow, I’d be lying if I said that doing so was as simple as you would make it seem.  If that was the case then every 3S player would be great at parrying, yet this is not the case.

So I still stand that YOU could not do it.

That second round of the Necro/Makoto fight was so ridiculous.  Half his health was gone in under the first 5 seconds of the round.

They’re actually putting on a 5v5 tournament Co-Op Cup style called the KokuNuki cup, I believe it’s in september but I may be getting that wrong. Also they’ve been doing a lot of joint commentary on like AE and stuff lately weirdly.
