Chinatown Fair Reportedly Reopening on May 5th as a “Family Friendly Destination”

While rumors of Chinatown Fair’s reopening circulated a bit last month, we now have some concrete information on the arcade’s sudden resurrection in New York. According to Bowery Boogie, the classic gaming location will see its shutters open to the public once more on May 5th, with a pastel-themed color scheme and a variety of new cabinets awaiting them inside. Far from the grimy fighting location of old, the new owner is looking to turn Chinatown Fair into a more “family friendly” destination, but with Next Level Arcade already catering to the old crowd it’s hard to imagine them shifting their focus back to the old location anyways. Still, it’s great to see those with the means to do so are still interested in reviving the arcade scene in some capacity, and hopefully the revamped location finds a way to hold its own in this modern age of home consoles.
