Dead or Alive 5 May Include More Virtua Fighter Characters

Andriasang is reporting that Yousuke Hayashi of Team Ninja recently spoke with Famitsu about the inclusion of additional characters in Dead or Alive 5. With all the trouble they went through snagging Akira, Hayashi says he probably won’t be the only character. Virtua Fighter isn’t specifically mentioned, so we may be seeing other franchises join the mix. Also, Akira will handle almost exactly like he does in Virtua Fighter, so fans of that franchise looking to make the transition because of him should find no problem in doing so.

I’d almost have to bet on a Tekken character being included. Having guest characters from the only 2 other majorly successful 3D fighters to be included in DOA makes some bunch sense. (Sorry MK, but you utterly failed making a presence in the 3D scene:P)

  The 3D games did suck, but DOA and MK are both known for being ‘accessible’ fighters, the most popular ones at that. Besides, a Ryu Hayabusa and Scorpion match would be hype as hell.

Im glad with Akira’s inclusion and all, but I feel that having too much guest characters would take away from when DOA x VF inevitably gets announced. DOA5 should’ve been strictly DOA, since its supposed to be a reboot or sort.
