Broken Pixels SFxT Rap — “Taggin In”, as well as “The Heroes Heart” based on SCV

Broken Pixels is a group known for producing songs about the games they love. They just released a 4 minute rap for Street Fighter x Tekken called “Taggin In” featuring some slick production value and some hype video work to go with it. In fact, the instrumental you’re hearing is a remixed version of the games main theme. Definitely worth a watch. Also linked below is a Soul Calibur V song by the same group. This kind of production takes a lot of work, and it’s always good to see artistic expression channeled into something cool in this community. Good work guys.

    Yo yo
    X-Factor Wesker going in
Dash under S, again I win
    Incoming characters have no chance
So bend over and pull down your pants

The idea is nice but the lyrics could use work. The delivery isn’t too good either.

Why the fuck is this on the front page of SRK?

    • Anonymous

It’s fighting game related, that seems to be about enough to make it these days.

Is there another place things get posted besides the front page?

The SFxTK one just sounded like a lot of random shit put together.
Soul Calibur had some parts that fit with the story but it had it’s ups and downs.

At least you didn’t hum through the entire song so good for you.

I was going to cancel my pre-order for this game since it comes out on the same day as Mass Effect 3…

But thanks to this video my hype level won’t go down. This news post just cost me 60 bucks :P

“Can you imagine an army full of Killians”

    Please No, One is Enough.
But seriously, good video, just though the chorus was really lame in the SFxTK
The Whole “I’m tagging in/you taggin in/im taggin it in” was just laaaame

Well, at least it’s better than the SF3.3S Main theme. As good as the game itself was, Objectively speaking, the main theme sucked huge ass, was a lame interpretation of what rap was even at that time.  An authentic fighter should use authenic music, I would prefer they play to their strenghts and did an anime ballad or even heavy metal score score so long as you’re not fakin’ the funk bro. Or outsource that shit to pros in NY or LA. Most Def , Talib Kweli, Kayne at his turn, Just Blaze and Members of the WU were all gameheads at one time.

I am so white that the only thing that bothered me was their inability to spell. At first I thought it was just an accident but once I got to the second video and saw the word chemestry I just sighed and stopped.

But I still prefer shit like this over hearing 95% of the crap on the radio.

Hey there, Nerdsworth Here. All I can really do is apologize for the typos. Each video is a video large project. We try to get the videos out in a timely manner and some errors do get through. As far as the spelling is concerned, I am the only one who has eyes on the project and am most of the time too close too it to notice because I am paying attention to the project as a whole. I’ll do my best to remedy this typo issue in the future.

Thank you very very much for you support though. Glad we can beat out 95% of the radio tunes :)

Man that was a lot of references. The first Rapper for the Tekken song was rather boring however, his flow and rhythm was the same boring basic beat over and over again. Street Fighter Rapper atleast mixed it up, so hey, balance.

I dig them both. They both have quality, and it shows that Broken Pixel has talent. Once the artists find their voice(s) and develop their style more, their shit will be hype.
