UMvC3 – Unfinished Impractical Dante Combo Video

It’s almost a regularity to see Dante’s on various streams pull out large intricate combos rife with the characters 40 plus move set as if to strum UMvC3 as a Devil May Cry play session. None the less, every time a player goes out of the ordinary with his Dante combos it’s always a treat to watch the creativity at work. You know where this is going.

TheKoreanDrifter just posted up an impractical Dante Combo video that– while unfinished– still manages to have some fun tricks woven into it. Fittingly hype music certainly helps as we watch Dante try to break the style point barrier consistently for nearly three minutes. Fun stuff, clearly worthy of a little indulgence.

I wonder what kind of combos we’ll see 10 years from now.

You guys have an obligation to keep.

THESE COMBOS ARE SO DUMB THEY’RE IMPRACTICAL NOBODY WOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS IN A REAL FIGHT AND IT COSTS SO MUCH BAR…

That’s exactly why the title of the article has the word impractical in it. These videos we see very often are mostly impractical.

I kind of think it was a humorous troll this time, guys.

But his trolling wasn’t SSStylish enough!

His method of trolling was too impractical. No one could do that in a real thread.

I don’t even want to imagine how much repetition it would take to remember and execute a combo like that.

Not much. Once you’ve played the character enough, you understand exactly how everything works and to be able to execute it, wouldn’t be very hard.

The hard part is being creative and using them in different ways. But I could do 90% of these combos just by looking at them and trying them maybe 4-5 times in training mode.

Crazy Dance cancels are a bitch though.

What Gabriel said. You should check out the series of articles entitled “Six Psychological Tips to Improve Your Game” or something to that effect. It doesn’t take much because most of the muscle memory learned from other combos makes “crunching” (per the articles) a combo for a character much easier.

should go back to karate champ days, 1 hit knocks the fucker clean out, no fuss-no muss, HA!!

seriously tho, my combo learning technique is if i haven’t got it down after 20 mins or so, i dont bother with it as its unlikely i’m gonna use it in open play, i consider myself reasonably competent and can look after myself in most fighting games…

just passing on info to relative noobs, get down the basics properly most important (range/speed etc) and a few combos you’re likely to be able to pull off in a match rather than wasting countless hours on ones that will be a stretch!

i know practice makes perfect, but in the heat of battle, you are likely to drop the more complex combos when you could have landed a meaty banker, depends on your play style and depends if you wanna play with flair or get the W. i ‘spose!!!

to the more advanced, i know i’m stating the bleedin’ obvious!

And then you lose a match, because flair would have gotten a KO and your day 1 BnB did not.

There’s no competitive justification for not learning complicated combos. There’s a competitive justification for not USING them, in every given circumstance, but there circumstances in which it’s the difference between a W and an L, and if you said lolwhatever after 20 minutes, you will lose those instances.

But, to the gdlk, I know I’m stating the bleedin’ obvious and all.

whatever works for you G. just personally, if its not down in 20 for me, i’d rather spend my time honing other skills/combos, gotta play to your strengths, not everyone has ninja timing no matter how much they practice a certain thing and i freely admit that and know when to chuck in the towel, but i appreciate the input and the hilarious comeback! ;p
