Qanba Q2-PRO Battle of Wits Arcade Stick Lets You Switch Between Left and Right Handed Use

Chinese arcade stick manufacturers Qanba recently revealed a product geared towards players uncomfortable with the typical joystick and button layout. With a flick of a switch, the stick can but turned around and used from the opposite direction, allowing left-handed players a more comfortable solution to playing on a stick. While the design calls for a straight button layout to work properly, it’s a nice, thoughtful reworking that should help left-handed players acclimate a little faster to playing on an arcade stick. The Q2-PRO ‘Battle of Wits’ is set to release sometime in mid-March of this year.

You can make similar setups with nothing more than a double-throw, multi-pole switch.
They’re just doing the same thing with transistor logic instead of physical switches.

THIS IS THE STICK FOR ME! I have no feeling in particular in my right hand, therefore I have a hard time even linking. I had to rely on sound cues to know if I was doing it right. This is perfect for that! Also I am left handed as well so definitely comes in handy!

I was actually just wondering the other day why this has yet to be done of if it even could be practically.

Because most of the cool lefties ply cross-handed like Seth.

I like straight layouts more than curved anyway.

If there was some way to actually replace the Japanese stick with a Happ/iL model, I’d grab it in a heartbeat.

It’s not a new idea.  Reversible controllers have been around since at least the 80′s.  They were just never successful products.

IDK, I’m a lefty and never had a problem using arcade sticks. I think I would actually find it harder to use the stick with my right hand after so many years using my left hand. This is cool for those who would prefer using their right hand

    • Anonymous

I’ve always found this concept weird too.  I’m left-handed, and I think I have an advantage in using my primary hand on the more precise control, the joystick instead of the buttons.  Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve been touch-typing since I was about 10 years old that negates any coordination disadvantage I’d have with the buttons using my off-hand.  I definitely appreciate it when a company caters to lefties, but this product probably isn’t for me either.

The stick is better when it comes to pressing buttons as fast as a keyboard since you use all your fingers and not just your thumbs.

The controller is better because you have your hands wraped around it allowing you to react faster.

I also just prefer the hand held. That’s the only difference.

I don’t understand the purpose of this stick. If a person is left-handed, then why not go out and buy a left-handed stick? That way, they can have the shifted buttons too.

There’s no reason it can’t.  If you can’t just flip the panel over and reinstall the buttons, you could always make your own.  Even a child could build a box with a button panel on it.

Also perfect if you want to re-create the feel of some older arcade cabs. That, or that one NeoGeo cab that was put together by someone who had no idea what the hell they were doing.

lol, now I can play cross handed

I’m just glad they got rid of the start button off of the front.  I wonder if they will come dual modded out of the box.
