UMvC3 Mystic Vortex – Doctor Strange, Hawkeye, Doctor Doom Team Combos and Resets

Maziodyne comes at us tonight with another installment of his Mystic Vortex combo video series, which explores some of the strategies available to a Doctor Strange team. In this video he pairs the Sorcerer Supreme with Hawkeye and fellow physician Doctor Doom to showcase the combos and resets that result from their unique team synergy.

    I’m liking Dr. Strange more and more. Those nasty set-ups leading up to those “wtf…?” potential resets. He can definitely can change the game with those specials and super fast super of his.

      It’s easy to open people up but under pressure he cracks easily. You kinda have to strike first. Then you can mind fuck your opponent. I love playing him, it really changes from the basic rush down/keep away. I run him anchor because it’s easy to kill off one loop.

      the curse of people who live in places with a relatively small Marvel 3 community. I don’t get to play casuals with people very often so I’m stuck in training mode more often than not. and no chance of me playing ranked online because int’l connections where I live are ass.

    My problem with strange is that all his mixups become useless in the corner, and if you want to do these resets than you’re almost always going to have to end your combo early because strange’s combos have a lot of corner carry. And for some reason capcom didnt make his cr.L hit low so his high/low mixups arent that good either.

      not entirely true. Strange has ways of mixing you up in the corner, provided you have a red grace midscreen. did you check out Ryan Hunter’s video?

        ya ive seen it, is that actually practical though? like if the combo started further/closer to the corner so the timing of the FoF is different or if the opponent pushblocks will it still work?

      I don’t see this as a huge problem for Strange. If people turtle in the corner (it happens a lot when you play anchor Strange XD), you might not be able to do your mix up, but between all his homing fireballs and the durability of m mystic sword, it’s easy to frustrate a turtling opponent. But I don’t do the Ryan Hunter set up for the corner though,

        im not talking about turtling, im talking about doing resets after a combo (which in strange’s case often end in the corner) or just having any good mixups in case they have a character in the corner, like after you kill a character or snap someone in.

        There are plenty of situations where you have someone in the corner not just when someone is turtling, so it would be nice to be able to have effective ways to open ppl up.

    DR strange is just amazing on this game. Hes SO interesting to play with.

    my most played knocked phoenix off her top spot…

    amazing combos! i love the way that if you are amazing at this game you can make the games character look like gods! its just so much more exciting to watch than any other street tighter.
