Capcom updated their Street Fighter X Tekken page with details about the new Quick Combo system they’ve added in for beginners. Here are the details in English:

Quick Combo system

A new system to help out beginners

Street Fighter x Tekken has a new quick combo system where two different preset combos can be easily executed by pushing either l.k + h.p or l.p + h.k. You’re able to dish out some good damage easily, however, it costs one block of super meter to use it. It’s great for players who struggle with combos. Ryu’s preset 1 is the powerful cross rush(l.p,m.p,hp,hp).

You can assign your quick combo 1 and 2 to any button you like in the controller setting menu.

Capcom: “It takes a block of meter! So it’s okay guys! I mean at least it’s not just shoved in there w/o any consequence!”

Fan: “Wow, awesome! I always had trouble w/ combos in VS and Marvel! Now, I can do it and stand up there w/ the big boys!”

SRK: “Really man? Since when did target combos become rocket science for these people?”

In all seriousness though no one is going to use this just like how no one uses 3P or 3K (Unless for some disability or play pad or personal preferences), I don’t know why they wasted their breath programming this “feature”. It’s A-B-C-C. How HARD is that? -_____-

Yeah, but simple mode in umvc3 at least was light, heavy, special, and you still had to do command normals to do them. From hearing this it sounds they’re saying “Here is a programmable controller, have fun doing a simple but effective combo at the cost of a meter”

You don’t learn anything from that, not that there’s much to learn from going lp,mp,hp,hp. Which even on a pad would equal out to be something like B,Y, LB, LB.  Do you know the amount of action/adventure games that require the inputs of B, Y, LB, LB with the not-so-strict-as-fuck timing that SFxTK allows? Hang on, let me list an entire series of games that has that timing, but slightly stricter. Devil may cry. If you can do simple combos in devil may cry you can do what the auto combo is set to. Or if you want to go further, if you can time combos in Dynasty Warriors you can combo ryu’s preset quick combo.

Micheal J. Fox on a bad day can combo ryu’s preset quick combo on an xbox pad in a human size drier in an earthquake.

If your friends seriously need help hitting three buttons in sequential order, and hitting the last one twice without any rhythm or timing please seek medical help.

While I respect high level play, I think what people are forgetting is that long before people fixated on esports, beating J Wong, appearing on streams, acquiring battle points, etc.; people generally just played fighters to kick some ass and have fun doing it.  Not everything needs to be the epitome of high strategy/execution and massive amounts of depth.

They wouldn’t need to put this in if they just made a proper fucking tutorial. You know, like every other game in 2011. I mean, how hard is it to make a mode that teaches blocking, punishing, combos, spacing, throw breaking, etc.? Nah, they just assume that new players are too dumb and don’t wanna get better anyway, so they might as well take out any incentive to learn the game.

It’s just a feature for people who just picked the game up to have fun.
I don’t get the skepticism, if you play fighters, just don’t use this yourself.
at least it can ease the introduction for potential new players,
and it does cost them to use it, so they’ll feel motivated to work to get beyond the need of it sooner. I think it’s a good idea.

You ever consider that maybe this isn’t intended to make noobs good, but maybe to get noobs to play the game at all?  Stuff like this is obviously to make the game accessible to people who would otherwise NOT play it – who would want to go through arcade mode pressing the same button over and over again.

And now that they’ve played it, maybe they’ll like it and play with their friends who are also new to it, they’re not expected to suddenly start winning tournaments.

you see, the problem with this is that noobs probably aren’t touching this game anyway because it’s a fighting game. They’re already intimidated by all the other crazy features this game has. This Quick Combo system isn’t gonna do anything to alleviate the situation.

I guess it’s cool that they’re not afraid to experiment, but they’re going sorta overboard with this game, aren’t they? Choosing a crossover game to try out all these mechanics was an odd choice, imo.

I agree. I think it fits in with the Assist Gems. The idea is to help them hang around in the match longer. Capcom knows the meat of this game is online play and that can be brutal for new players and getting KO’d in 15 secs can discourage many of them from continuing to play. I think its a good idea. It’ll help people who want to learn understand what is possible as far as combos but regardless this tool isn’t going to win the match for them if they’re playing someone better. Anything that might help grow the FGC is worth a shot.

Hmmmm ok. So let’s say Akuma is in the game, & you do the input for the Raging Demon (l.p, l.p, forward, l.k, h.p). Now most ppl who do it press l.k & h.p together, so will you get the Raging Demon, or the combo?

The problem isn’t it doesn’t help newbs (not noobs, there’s a difference) at all.

  • http://handsomefatman.com/ Carlos Alexandre

Nonsense. Even the so-called “casual” audience playing a game realizes the whole point of a game is to reach a goal by overcoming obstacles, and that happens through betterment.

It isn’t just fighters. It’s also, say, Megaman. Or Castlevania. Or Gears of War. Or ANY GAME.

Try not to lose your blood pressure over this comment, Bitchicate, as this time I’m not attacking your laughable character, I’m attacking your terrible logic.

Guess what: even at the non-competitive level, game design actually *matters*. Shocking, I know, but it does. And while you’re dead on that not everything needs to be high execution (in fact, execution barriers should be lowered across the board, for all fighters, and most other games too), strategy is still really important at any level.

Those games that earn praise for being easy to play and difficult to master with a deep endgame? That can still be accessed by a new player, helping make that player better? They exist, and SFxT is trying really, really hard *not* to be one of them, by introducing nonsensical “accessibility” that doesn’t actually help.

What Sirlin did with HDR, THAT’S thoughtful accessibility.

What Capcom did with SRK shortcuts in SF4, that’s the exact opposite. And these preset combos are far more in line with that.

No need to reply, as I already know what it will be and that it won’t matter. But if you’re even a third as intelligent as you pretend to be, actually consider what I just said here.

A B C D is too hard?  So you have to make it a 2 button press?  What’s next?  Calling out moves on the fucking Kinect?

Capcom fucking sucks as a developer these days. They’re living off and rehashing past glories, but they utterly fail when it comes to innovating and adding on, and keeping up w/ the times.

Why isn’t there a comprehensive tutorial system that teaches the inner workings of the game from beginner to advanced instead of derping the system for people who don’t know how to play? How about an advanced player DLC that overlays hit boxes during training and gives frame data while you play?  How about a repetition trainer for each character to make better players?

    Sheesh.

Any gamer, ANY gamer, cares about getting better.

This isn’t about “true” gamers even. The most casual of casual gamers looks to find a new tactic, a new edge, a new something to improve at any game.

The average casual or even “hardcore” gamer plays to finish the game. Fighting games have a lot to offer but to a casual and even a hardcore gamer the primary objective is still the games full completion.

For fighting games the end game is honeslty no were in site and that is were the dilemma derives. The goal in these cases or in most cases when it comes to anything that has a video game competitive element is that of choice.

I can choose to finish the game with all the different characters and that will do it for me. I can also play the game on all difficulty levels. I can play  through the game and not be beating and the list goes on and on and on.

Its up to the individual to create the end game for themselves. Its up to developer to encourage you to immerse yourself in as many choices as they have to offer.

Before Fighting games and mutliplaying games in general my only objective was finishing the game. Once I finished the game, I had the choice to go back and play. Ususally when I did this my skills natural progressed and it was somewhat of a subconcious effect I was unaware that my skills had improved I just wanted to replay through the game because I naturally enjoyed it.

Its become apparent now that a few games have a practice mode Assasins Creed being one example. Before there was no such thing. You played you improved and you made the choice to continue playing or moving on.

Sorry I tend to rant I just like these conversations.

It’s sad but there will always be a heavy level of snobby elitist to be found on sites like these. It’s to expected, they learned to play a game one way and expect everyone else to. Sadly, that’s just how it is.

But, for anyone with a level of skill that can even remotely can be considered above a “casual” level, this doesn’t pose any kind of threat. The combo will still have a start-up, there are still frames, they can still be hit out of them. And, if the other just mindlessly uses it, they lose meter for a combo they could have very well learned themselves.

Now, if that isn’t the biggest smack across the back of the head to get you to learn how to play this game, I don’t know what is.

tl;dr Let the “pros” be pros and everyone else will make their mistakes and learn the game in their own way

You have to understand these fighting games are competing against “Right Trigger Fires Your Gun, Left Throws A Grenade”. This is a industry of instant gratification.
There is a reason why a fighting game hasn’t been on the top 20 games played on XBL since week 2 after MK9′s release. Most kids don’t want to have to spend hours in a training mode just to have a shot at winning a match, they don’t want to memorize frame data and they likely could care less about the inner workings of the game. Putting “Now includes a Comprehensive Tutorial!” on the front of the game is not going to sell copies. I think Capcom understands the general public much better than you and I would argue that this innovation is keeping up with the times.

I understand that Capcom is trying to cater to the casual crowd, and I believe helping casuals, noobs, w/e is good and helps support the FGC, but lets be serious for one minute…we all know that the, as I call them, ‘super casuals’ that Capcom is trying to cater to aren’t even gonna buy the game.

They will most likely play with a friend who has it, or get it thru Gamefly, have fun mashing buttons with their turbo fingers until their hands get tired, then put the game down completely & move on to something else. Sometimes making things too easy actually takes the fun out of it.

This is why I believe in the training wheels concept. Make it easy and gradually show them how to do a certain moves properly, as opposed to doing the move for them. Now before I get the ‘some ppl only wanna have fun’ comment, think about this…remember waaay back when you first started playing fighting games, had no idea how to do anything, then you did your first hadoken / shoryuken, and the happiness you felt cuz, hey you actually did it. Then remember when you learned how actually do the move properly, it made it fun because you knew how to do it, and it made you want to play more and try more stuff. I remember when I did my first fatality in Mortal Kombat in 3rd grade. Scorpion, hold block, up, up…when I did it I lit up (no pun intended), I actually started dancing because I was happy I actually did it. That made the game more fun and made me want to play more.

The whole ‘press this one button to do this whole combo’ thing is only gonna be fun for a very short time, but showing them how to play will increase the fun for them, and make them want to play more, thus increasing the longevity of the game.

I’m getting the game regardless, but I feel this casual, quick cash grab that Capcom is aiming for is not gonna work out.

TL:DR – it’s more fulfilling to do things yourself.

Honestly, when I was a scrub, i considered hitting two buttons at once on pad to be harder than just mashing three buttons in a sequence. Sure, you could program harder combos, but will newbs really use them? Will they really be preferable in damage to ABC launcher considering the extra meter cost?

This won’t help people want to get better at the game at all. Nor will it make people want to buy the game. People are going to buy the game either because they are into fighting games (casual or hardcore) or just because they like the street fighter or tekken franchise (but don’t really care about getting better).

The people who are into fighting games will already know how to do target combos or are at least willing to learn how to do it (its not hard anyways so learning won’t be a problem). And the people who don’t care about getting better are most likely button mashers so they won’t even care about this feature anyway.

    Useless feature.

You’re right that improvement comes from overcoming
obstacles.  However, there is a bevy of
information needed for most users to reach a level of competency that many of
us think that should be easy and basic, that a lot of interested new players
    will remain oblivious to.

Even to this day, I have yet to see a game instruct players
how to perform common special moves and the timing required for them.  I’ve yet to see a game explain the concept of
cancelling: the fundamental element needed for performing even the most basic
of combos in at least 80% of all known fighting games.  Things like these do require research and
practice, which is not good for getting people to stick with the game.

It is for reasons, like this that developers include items
like simple controls and Gems to allow new players to do some cool things immediately,
with a fighting system that has the worst possible conveyance.  You can’t compare fighting games, like Street
Fighter to games that have great conveyance, like Megaman or Castlevania,
because of their simple controls and simple goals: jump and shoot/whip.

For more about ‘conveyance’, you should look up Egoraptor’s
Sequelitus Episode 2: Megaman vs Megaman X.

    will remain oblivious to.

Oh no, I won’t lose my blood pressure(What sense does that even make, considering someone being angry would include their blood pressure skyrocketing, not being “lost”, but I digress) pedro, and while I could attack your laughable attempts to sound intelligent on a gaming site inbetween your daily job of picking strawberries on a farm in California, I’d just attack your simple little point made by someone who obviously never graduated middle school, let alone high school.

See the thing is, I actually do know design matters, surprise surprise!  And the most important aspect of design is, get this…  fun…  See, no one cares how deep or “strategic” your game is if it isn’t fun.  While I understand people hate dumbing things down in games, as do I, in this instance it’s honestly something that won’t affect high level play.  I mean, unless you honestly believe a crappy combo macro is going to allow someone to beat J Wong.  This feature is added for 2 reasons: admittedly laziness on Capcom’s part, and a desire to make it as easy as possible for anyone to get into the game fast and be able to “do cool shit” at the press of a button, which for people who don’t care about being some pro SF player, is FUN.  Same reason MK9 has so much blood and gore, no one honestly needs blood splashing all over the screen and it adds nothing to gameplay, but it makes it fun for people to watch.  This is that same kind of concept, simply exchange watch with play.

And funny you mention Sirlin’s work on HDR, when the community ended up shunning him and treating him like garbage all because he made a few inputs easier, which just proves this community loses their shit anytime anyone dares to change even the slightest thing in fighting games.  Same reason that article a while back about fighting game design had a comment from a Japanese developer stating how it’s extremely hard to try anything new in the genre since the hardcore fans are so fixated on fighters being exactly a certain way, they’ll shun any game that tries anything different.  Which is proven by the nonstop whining about every single feature in this game, from Gems supposedly turning the game into Smash and ruining it, to supposedly some optional combo macro that probably isn’t even all that good making the game a “scrub game”.  Last I checked, UMvC3 has a simple mode, last I checked it’s also not a scrub game since simple mode is optional and won’t save you from being destroyed like a good player.  Much like how your smarmy remarks and grade school styled insults don’t save you from being destroyed by logic and fact.

Keep picking strawberries pedro, just be sure to wash your hands after you shit in the fields, don’t want anymore e.coli outbreaks due to your filthy swinelike habits.

Sequelitus is great. Amazing. Awesome. And a very poor example to offer for your argument.

It’s a great one for *mine* though, and in fact it’s even touched upon when Egoraptor talks about “the trick you taught yourself.”

Though you’re right that fighters do a very poor job teaching their new players. They need more of that. But this weird quick combo thing isn’t what’s going to do it.

  • http://handsomefatman.com/ Carlos Alexandre

Shitty feature aside, no win will be fraudulent in that scenario. If “casuals” beat you with this feature, consistently, you may not be as good as you think.

  • http://handsomefatman.com/ Carlos Alexandre

I’ve never seen someone type so much and say so little.

Though you did, in your mess of grade school level analysis, touch on something valid: people don’t like change.

Unfortunately, the issue isn’t as simple as you. It’s also not as simple as you paint it.

    Otherwise, trash post as usual.

WTF dude all that hate. Also you are wrong :)

“See, no one cares how deep or “strategic” your game is if it isn’t fun”
Well you are gonna have to break it down to us, because I don’t see how that implied definition of “fun” includes Chess and SFxT quick-combo shit.

The complain doesn’t come from thinking it will “affect high level play”, just from how tired we are of companies advocating stupidity. I get it, people are stupid and need an 8hrs tutorial (Super Mario galaxy) in order to be able to enjoy a game … well fuck that. Ok, companies need to sell, but they could at least try to find a balance between disgusting shit and good games … too bad they actually benefit from more people becoming idiots since it means less production costs (yeah fuck capitalism whatever).

Developers should be afraid of inserting new things because all they have been inserting is bullshit. I don’t remember people going crazy when FRCs were introduced in GG. I remember some criticism when Supers were introduced in SF2 but we quickly got used to them and understood their meaning at higher levels of play; just like parries in SF3. But there is no chance this quick-combo thingy will be like that, it has nothing to do with the mechanics I mentioned, it doesn’t add anything to the game. It’s like having this BIG special that only can be used in combos, consumes a bar and does 5 points of damage (and that doesn’t knockdown or anything advantageous). It’s just useless.

It’s for the idiots, and it’s bad for the idiots. “My girlfriend doesn’t want to learn combos” is bullshit, it’s like saying “My dad doesn’t like charging in Megaman X”. Sure okay he can play however he likes dude, but it’s just less fun for him. Charging isn’t that difficult and it’s more fun. Doing combos is fun, isn’t it? I think it’s fun, I still go to training mode in HnK and see what shit I can come up with. Some girlfriend doesn’t want to learn combos because she doesn’t care for the game, I’m sure some WoW fan out there can say he doesn’t find combos fun but can easily handle the high-level WoW techniques I don’t give a shit about.

I don’t find SMB3 fun. I don’t like how you pretty much have to memorize the stages in order to be able to run trough them (because walking is boring) without dying because your jump can be so long that you land 2 screens away just right next to a fucking tortoise. I think it would be nice to have like a radar or something, but I’d feel insulted if they added a mechanic that jumped for me. SMB is ABOUT jumping.

FGs aren’t about “comboing” so much, and that’s why this shit is also irrelevant, you can totally win without combos anyway! I have this friend who plays Slayer in GG and knows shit about combos, he just doesn’t care, he (used to) win by just frame trapping me and applying a constant and thick pressure (and lotsa throws).

What I am saying is that this shit needs to go away. A kid that plays Super Mario galaxy probably won’t grow up into someone who thinks when playing video games (millions of factors, just an example) because the game tells him “Oh my where is the fucking star” while the camera pans to show it. It’s ridiculous. In Super Metroid there is nothing that tells you that some block can be broken, yet you see the block has the same logo as your weapon and … like, you think and say “Maybe I can shoot this thing” and woah it breaks, cool. You are also familiar with that because right at the beginning you are trapped after finding the morph ball, and the only way out is shooting at this square that’s obviously the only way out and morphing. Also that area where there are blocks in front of you that just disappear when you shot at them, no need to even aim.

Also “This is that same kind of concept, simply exchange watch with play.” is just stupid. You just said gameplay gives the same kind of fun as graphics, do you even have hands dude?

    Lotsa kisses! Bye.

Isn’t the whole game just ABC tag ABC super, like straight cancels? Not sure how necessary this is.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sean-Foreman/100000476695712 Sean Foreman

Hey!  I never said what they’re doing for SFxT was exactly a GOOD thing for teaching people.  What would be a step in the right direction would be the tutorials in Blazblue, or using challenges (i.e. MK’s Challenge Tower) to teach basics during gameplay, as suggested by Ego.

What I AM saying about the Gem system and simple controls is that they’re Capcom’s understandable method for giving new players the power to access abilities they would not have because of possible execution barriers, nothing more.  They are not in any way meant to be training wheels of any kind.  They are tools designed to give new players more abilities to survive against more competent players.  Players who survive longer play longer.  Players who play long enough will want to learn more.  Only then, will the training and research process begin for them.

  • Anonymous

Regarding conveyance, I think you can compare them. Think of Bangai-O Spirits for the DS. That game also has little natural conveyance, that’s why it has this nice tutorial that pretty much explain absolutely everything (and is kind of fun). FGs need that. Honestly, I just imagine pressing one button and having the game do the combo for me … and it doesn’t seem like fun. It’s like QTEs without breaking the rules; QTE’s are there because you can’t really climb a giant’s arm and stab him in the eye with “jump” and “slash” in God of War. But you can do ABCC in SFxT and fuck it’s not even hard.

What I am against is advocating stupidity. What’s the point (for us) in attracting new players if they don’t care for the game? I can understand a company doing this shit, they want to sell and they kind of like stupid customers who don’t complain, but fuck I am totally against it.

FGs should explain their shit, not do it for you, otherwise there is no learning to do. And yeah maybe some people don’t like learning .. well fuck them. It’s not just learning the game, it’s learning to learn in general. Its crucial that we stop advocating stupidity because “some people don’t like to learn”. It’d be actually better if they dropped SF because it’s “too damn difficult” and went outside and threw rocks at a tree: hey they are learning about gravity!

That’s pretty much it: I’m tired of people having things easy, it’s not good for them.

Guys! Guys! Can we at least TRY this before we bash it to hell? It’s obviously meant for people new to fighting games where meter won’t matter to them at the beginning because they won’t know how to do anything. I believe that it should be up to the new players to decide if its useful not people who have knowledge of fighting games.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sean-Foreman/100000476695712 Sean Foreman

I’m with you.  I’m not for fighting games to completely stray from their mostly universal control schemes, or for them to be so simple that they completely lose their depth.  My stance on how fighting games should be in the future is: complicated inputs, like Haohmaru’s Tenha Fujin Zan from Samurai Showdown II (341236421 + CD [WTF]) should be replaced and streamlined, like how Street Fighter HD Remix took Guile’s Somersault Flash command (Charge 1, 319 + K [over 15 years later, I still hate this motion!]) and made it more manageable for more players (Charge 1, 2369 + K), tutorials for those new to fighting games, and challenges that allow people to play as they learn basic and intermediate skills, like MK’s Challenge Tower.

I can accept the gems for allowing new players to access abilities they would not have access to because of execution barriers, but not so much that insults the human ability to learn and adapt for themselves.

I know. I thought it up all by my self. I’d like to take this time to apologize though. I forgot that the SRK “community” doesn’t believe casual video game players exist and that any fighting game that’s made needs to be exclusively for the hardcore frame-counters who “play to win.”

People with different interests do exist outside of your bubble.

Indeed. My gf would rather be playing Cityville than a fighter, but we have fun mashing buttons from time to time. This feature would make the button mashing easier for her.

Props to Ono for realizing that everyone’s definition of fun isn’t the same.

Proof positive why not familiarizing yourself with the arguments for and against something makes you look like a jackass.

As mentioned, which you would have seen by simply scrolling down, the problem with this quick combo feature is that it doesn’t help anyone. Not hardcores. Not casuals.

Also, the term “hardcore” and “casual” are really, really dumb. Assume every time I use them a little piece of me dies.

Anywho, different interests aren’t helped by this useless feature. There are umpteen better ways to appeal to new players.

It’s so sad that for a community that strives to dissect games down to the most basic level, most of you can’t seem to grasp, or be bothered to understand fundamental game design principles beyond what’s needed to understand technical data. For all your pissing and moaning, if you’d actually look at the reality of the situation outside your own bubble, a whole new world awaits.

TL;DR = When you actually understand the wider scope of game design, it becomes a lot easier to spot legitimate problems, and solutions, rather than bitch it up on the internet.

It’s not his fault people are stupid enough to walk into Hulk’s standing H months after the game came out.

I see so many people bitch and whine about how well Noah did, even though it’s really the fault of his opponents for not having a clue how to fight super armor.

Commencing biggest eye roll in the world, and… complete.

It has nothing to do with how far I am in the community (I’m not far at all, btw, but hey nice straw-grasping). It has nothing to do with “conforming.” It has to do with a guy posting wildly inaccurate things about gamers and gaming in general, and me factually calling it out as very wrong.

Capcom is keeping up with fuck all.

Just ignore him, he’s a Skullgirls fan so he has no idea about how to make a successful fighting game that people besides anime otakus and neckbeards will be interested in.

What’s wrong, jealous you didn’t think of it first?  Look, I know you’re too busy stripping down car parts to sell them on the black market to have time to wash up and learn social skills to charm a woman, but lots of guys actually can do just that!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/MOJ5F2KBKECNB5DPIZYUR2WTSA The Syndicate

Can you blame him though?  He has nothing going for him in life besides mowing lawns, he’s too fat and ugly to get a gf(which says a lot because even someone fat and ugly could get a gf).  Why, counting frames so he can beat people in a fighting game is the closest he’ll ever get to accomplishing anything!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/MOJ5F2KBKECNB5DPIZYUR2WTSA The Syndicate

Also of course you’d know all about what cosplayer has a gf, you wanna be Japanese weeaboo pedophile cumstain.  How does it feel knowing anytime your parents look at you, instead of seeing the son they always wanted, they just see the disappointment they wish they never brought into the world?

Ah, so you think rephrasing a nonsense argument into another nonsense argument is sort of like multiplying two negative numbers together.

    Gotcha.

And KOF is hard to play? because of the trials or something? lol, Noobs in my community play KOF XIII as their first fighting game, because the game teaches them good fundamentals for every FG instead of asking for dumbed down shit, the difficult is right and accesible because the game offers a high skillcap and easy bnb’s, the current mentality of the average gamer right now is completely wrong.

Capcom is doing things right. They are in the business to make money, simple as that. Games are getting shorter, easier, and more expensive for the most part, and the ignorant masses are eating it up. Capcom understands that the majority of our society are lazy, and want instant satisfaction. I’d do it too if I were in the industry.

Truth be told, this feature is designed for people who dont want to learn how to play fighters properly. Doesnt matter if you hit a button, and a super/full combo/Neo Bahumut from ff7 comes out, random mashing is random mashing. You will still get bodied by a good player, and you will still get salty, and eventually trade the game in. You still have to know when/where/why to hit the button, regardless of what it does, so anyone who actually wants to delve deeper into the game wont use this feature anyways. Its just a gimmick to get more cash, but hey…im an advocate for making money….more power to capcom I say.

Allow me to apologize on behalf of The Syndicate. He’s very, very angry with me for calling him on his bullshit in another comment thread, so he’s just throwing random rage everywhere.

    I recommend ignoring him.

Ummm….sites like these are created by and for the “snobby elitists”. You know, the people that actually have learned or are trying to learn how to play fighting games on a competitive level. For people who want to learn how to play a fighting game, this instant gratification combo will not help them learn properly.

Is this the new SRK? This shit is a GameFAQs message board level of discourse.

Not arguing that. It would be pointless to even try, given the attention an article like this gets.  Point I’m making is, that it may not help them learn properly. In a way, that’s what I’m trying to get across. But, what I’m also trying to say is that people who truly have a desire to learn to play this or any other fighting game competitively will find their own way.

If they are truly serious about it, then they would know right away not to depend on such a system. The system wasn’t intended for use by players of a competitive skill level in the first place.

Best argument I seen all week. Basically Street Fighter is underestimate people’s intelligent, and overestimating how many people can’t do those inputs.
