UMvC3 – M.O.D.O.K. Combo Showcase by Nos99

Nos99 a.k.a. borawserboxer was best known during the vanilla era for his insane Analyze Cube combos. Well with Ultimate out, he proves his main character is still a Mental Organism Designed Only for Kombos. Nos99′s new video “SCIENCE!!: A Collection of MODOK Combo Technology” goes through all the basics of using the big giant head (no, not Shatner on 3rd Rock from the Sun) from looping Hyper Battering Ram to using Slime Puddle plus an overhead for an unblockable. The latter is used with Snapbacks in order to Jamming Bomb the entire opposing team! And if that’s not enough M.O.D.O.K. combo goodness for you, check out the channels of Motempest and Cavemaniac. As Nos99 says, they’re all key members of the B.R.O.D.O.K. community.

There is a HUGE divide between Wesker level complexity and MODOK complexity. MODOK can’t jump, that already makes him more complicated than 75% of the cast.

It’s difficult to open someone up with MODOK. Once he’s in an adventageous position he’s absolutely crazy, but getting there is a lot more work than with other characters. This means he needs more team synergy than most to really get him to work, further limiting his options.

He’s also a goofy motherfucker.

I kind of knew MODOK was this crazy since the first days of vanilla, but as people have been saying, everybody (including me) is too lazy to want to utilize this kind of stuff. It looks like it takes a hell of a lot of effort, but the payoff is… well, Thor’s dead for no meter usage >.>
