Soul Calibur V Japanese Trailer and Alternate Costume Screenshots

Namco has released a new Japanese trailer and a bunch of new screenshots for the soon to be released Soul Calibur V. The trailer goes over all the known features of the game, from guest character Ezio to character creation to the online mode. It also details how to get the pre-order bonuses in Japan. Meanwhile, the screenshots show of more of the characters alternate costumes (including the previously revealed ones designed by Bayonetta’s Mari Shimazaki).

    Unnecessarily overdone latin-choir music, Siegfried in Pandora Mode, Ivy and other returning characters not looking a day over 25 despite the timeline, Pyrra doing her fragile daterape-victim archetype bit again (I hear the Japanese find that sexy), sidestep being overdramatically advertised and a large focus on character customization and online play. Oh, and tits.

    Yep. This game is shaping up to be nothing but forgettable, just like SCIV.

    I’m not really hyped for this game and I can’t understand why. I like the series and was flipping my shit over the fourth one so much I had to pick one up that broke the release date. But I don’t feel the hype at all with this one. It’s so strange… Don’t get me wrong though, I’m still buying this day one and probably pour in some hours on it. Just wanted to rant a little that’s all haha.

      Interesting, since its the opposite for me. I had no hype whatsoever for IV, but for some reason this one just looks so much better to me. I thinks it because of two reasons:

      1.No Star Wars characters (3 slots? Really?)
      2. My friend got his hands on it for a good while ( Mains Tira) and said he really liked the new feel to it.
