On block you get a great mixup. This is why I said it was better than spear – combo on hit, safe mixup on block.

I know what broken means, I was just using a bit of hyperbole. Doesn’t mean I don’t know what ‘broken’ means. It refers to when something is so good that it breaks down/dumbs down the game.

There is no mixup here because the spear is telegraphed based on the setup. You won’t think “he’s going to hellfire me so I should jump” because you will SEE the spear. If you want a *mixup* you should go for meaty hellfire or NOTHING and then on reaction spear them in the air if they jump. The spear will only catch people up closer where it’s faster and harder to predict.

Like I said before, it’s a good setup because it’s safe. But it’s not a mixup and it’s not really interesting enough to be on the front page.

Comparing two games with the same concept is silly,  Since when does Seth’s setup being better than a MK9 setup means that a MK9 tatic shouldn’t be front page? By your logic, we should never front page SF4 because MVC3 has more “game breaking” setups? This is seriously just a moronic argument to be completely honest. Broken by the way is game breaking, no you don’t want the term mean because your use of the term is ignorant.  Afterall you apparently said that MK9 training room is broken…

Ignoring the nonsensical SF4 VS MK9 argument, there is no reason to believe this setup isn’t safe. There is a only selective few that avoid the attack.  The spear setup in the video is meant to be at fullscreen, and will catch people at fullscreen.  Since the setup is safe, he can mixup it with a hellfire if the oppotent believes that they don’t have to move.  Like I said, this is on the front page because nobody knows about the competitive tactics of MK9.  Everybody knows what SF4 metagame is like, not so much with MK9 here because nobody never talks about it.
