Virtua Fighter 5 Ver. C Kage Bounce Combos

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of playing a game like Virtua Fighter 5, you know that for what it lacks in flash it makes up for with an incredible amount of depth and technicality. The game is difficult to master but substantially rewarding once you get it down.  Anyway, Myke from VFDC  just sent over this slick VF5 combo video for Kage, covering his basic juggle timings for his ShouRyuuZan (bounce) combos in the console version of the game. It runs the gamut for basic to advanced combos for the entire cast. It’s a great video for people who have trouble getting down the timing of some these juggles. It’s a good time to practice up too– VF5 Final Showdown hit’s Xbox and PS3 this summer.  Best not to sleep on it.

Damn, I remember when Vf used to be horrible polygons and looking at it now….just delicous.
DoA delicous. This Kage reminds me of DoA Hayate, or is it Hayabusa¿
    >.<

I'll be getting this in summer.

Played Virtua Fighter on the old Sega Saturn like damn near everyone else and haven’t touched it since. This video makes me want to…….yeah…..continue that trend. Shit props to whoever plays this competitively and makes money off of it shit I can’t hate.

I really hope you guys give it a try when FS comes out this summer.  I can admittedly understand why people might get turned off toward a VF scene (thanks Sega), but I really would like to see FS given a chance.

A burgeoning competitve scene might finally get this game off the ground, KOF XIII style

For those who are complaining about X Factor in UMvC3, Gem System in SFxT, etc, I expect you to buy and play this game when it comes out. It’s just like KOF in there is not BS comeback factor or broken garbage. If you lose, it’s because YOU as the player either messed up, or because your opponent was legitimately better.

This is one of the few fighting games that truly rewards the better and more skilled player, and you can bet your arse that i’ll be sinking time into it when it drops, and hyping it up at tournaments as much as possible. Cheers!

I think the problem people get with this game is that its TOO legit. Weight specific combos aplenty, no random wins at all, people will kill you fast and hard in the beginning no matter WHO you are simply from simple knowledge and experience barriers.
I want this game to succeed, but if I don’t get to play Aoi, Jacky, and Vanessa again, I totally see why.

“I want this game to succeed, but if I don’t get to play Aoi, Jacky, and Vanessa again, I totally see why.”
Can you explain this last sentence? I don’t understand at all.

        • http://twitter.com/MikoSenpai Ace Anego Hakurei

I want to play my favorite character but if I can’t due to lack of community, I can understand why because the game takes a lot to compete with more than one single character, much less, compete at all.
Before VF5, you couldn’t even PLAY Akira without playing a secondary first just to learn the ropes.

what, a game that makes too much sense?  ooooook.

The game takes as long to learn as tekken, but there isn’t nearly as much competition, so it’s more troublesome to level up.  That’s why the PERCEPTION is that VF is harder/more difficult than other games, when it is not.

Hopefully, the popularity problem will be at least somewhat rectified when FS comes out…I’m certainly hoping, but we’ll see

“The game takes as long to learn as tekken”
Okay, lets not kid ourselves, just for the fact you only have two attack buttons makes it harder to mash out strings besides PPPK.
If you take the time to look at the tutorials and practice, its much easier than Tekken imo, but people just don’t do that.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Gethoff-Mahfacebuk/558552166 Gethoff Mahfacebuk

I wouldn’t say EASIER than Tekken, just really different styles of play.  Also if weight specific combos are a pain (they are to me) then find something that works consistently on most of the cast, and just use that.

brah, vanilla VF5 is a 6 year old game, and it still is up there with visuals TTT2 and SC4/5.  It also COMPLETELY DESTROYS T6 in visuals.  no offense to tekken fans, of course.

I pleyed exactly three games on Saturn of VF1, decided never to touch it again.
Then I discovered Tekken and said goodbye to this series~~

This video does not make me want to play it either!
BTW, I’m not hating, just my opinion.

I think it’s the lack of hitsparks and the way the characters move. No fireballs no special effects. Tekken gets in your face, I see why it’s compared to Tekken so much, but Tekken just has more appeal.

I like watching VF5, but I don’t play because I find learning character-specific combos to be a pain. Makes the game feel like work.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Stephen-Kiu-Kiluk/100001285514307 Stephen Kiu Kiluk

Character specific combos, while being in the game, aren’t as prominent as you might think. Generally vs Lighter character like Aoi and Pai, you can get in a couple more hits. Whereas vs Jeffry and Wolf, since they’re heavier and fall faster, you’ll have to shorten a hit or two in order to get the full combo.

Not as difficult as you might think, actually! :) Regardless, I encourage anybody and EVERYBODY to pick up the game and start learning. There’s no “Well this character is hard to learn so pick an easy secondary”. That’s too confusing and that’s too much. Simply pick a character that you like, and start training and putting time in with them! Instead of splitting it between a couple characters, dedicate your time into one character.

Even vs the computer on the hardest setting you’ll get some really good training that will help you with everything, from basic combos and pokes to full blown setups and juggles.

Again, hope to see more people pick this game up and give it a fair shake now, and when the console version of FS drops. Sitting down and learning it, while taking a little bit of time, is hands down one of the most satisfying things you’ll ever do in a fighting game.
