Phantom Breaker Getting an Update for US Release

Recently it was revealed that Phantom Breaker, the doujin-esque fighter with a roster filled with girls and anime cameos, is coming to America. However, an article by Siliconera has revealed that the version we get won’t be the version that is currently out in Japan. In fact, the entire game is getting a title update that will coincide with it’s American release. No details have yet been revealed about what this update entails, but we could always hope for some additional Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate cameos. The game, and update, are scheduled to come out on March 6th, 2012.

That’s not the point. The point is there WAY better Japanese fighting games out there that could be imported. Shit, you can re-import better games like GGAC, Hokuto no ken, Basara, any past Melty, Fate codes, I’m just naming things off the top of my head..anything but this shit.

The absolute best part is like 1000 people will buy it,no one will play it the vocal minority will bitch like they do about BB and the publisher will write if off as a failure and not import an actual good game on those merits when it can all be avoided making this a digital download title and not going hard copy at all.

I’m all for supporting new obscure localizers or whatever but this game is straight up terrible.
Too terrible even for anime.
Too kuso for kusoge.
Think of tons of game systems all mashed together into an unrecognizable monstrosity and you have this game, I’m sure no one wants to really read everything wrong with it but I do have a list somewhere.

If you want American fans to buy this game, add characters from DragonBall Z in it, or any other Shonen Jump title.

Oh you CAN’T be serious. They’re practically the book on why execution is better than originality. Though that’s just Devil’s Advocate here, the game’s pretty much if Guilty Gear’s cluster of borrowed game mechanics turned out horribly wrong.
